  1. not a ghost story but I've had sleep paralysis a lot. I could probably write a novel about my experiences. so I'll keep it short and just say that waking up, unable to move or speak and seeing, hearing or sometimes feeling things around you is the scariest thing to live through.

  2. My life. 

  3. My childhood home was haunted.

There were many nights where I woke up to my name being whispered in my ear accompanied by a quick white flash. My things would disappear and reappear often. None of our pets would step foot into my room and if I took them in there, they would freak out over the closest (regardless of whether it was open or shut).

My mom was a skeptic until my brother was old enough to talk. When he was six, he got scared by something in his bedroom one night and ended up laying with her. A few minutes into him being in her bed, he calmly said "mama, why is that girl hanging upside down from the ceiling fan?" she didn't see it. She managed to fall back asleep some short time after and he woke her up again, "mama, why is the boy in the corner crying?". She didn't see that one, either, but she certainly didn't go back to sleep that time. Shortly after that, the little girl my brother saw would go into her room and say "good night mama" every single night before mom fell asleep. She eventually got used to it. That was something she never told me until I moved out and subsequently, that's when it stopped.

I had someone over one night when I was living there, shortly before moving out, and they got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. On the way back, they said their name was called from the kitchen followed by laughter. No one else was awake.

Things in my own home were calm until my grandmother died three years ago. A glass glade plug-in canister removed itself from the base in the wall and floated about 4 feet from the wall and a foot off of the ground. I saw it out of my periphery and when I turned my head to look at it straight on, it dropped to the floor.

One night, I was standing in the kitchen with some other people having a conversation, all of us on one side of it, and a plastic measuring cup flew from the other side straight towards us hitting the floor.

The final time anything happened, I had a model car with fairy lights wrapped inside of it sitting on my mantle and the lights randomly came on. I got up to turn them off and the switch was already in the off position. That was one that freaked me out the least because I feel like maybe there was something with the lights or the batteries but it was still odd.

So far, it's been about a year since anything too crazy has happened. I sometimes wonder if I've pissed my grandmother off in her afterlife and it's her doing the most recent stuff.
