I really dislike gacha mechanics where players have to spend ECs just to participate, especially those with no pity system like THIS or Lucky Boxes. At least with a pity system, there’s a ceiling on bad RNG. If it’s a free drops like Hunt Boxes, I don’t really mind it. Randomness is part of the fun, and there’s something exciting about hitting that 999 jackpot. But when real money or premium currency is involved, choosing not to include a pity system feels less like game design and more like a deliberate attempt to exploit player frustration and monetize the “just one more pull” mentality, rather than prioritizing enjoyment or the player experience.
