Most only get twelve hours to study it. You get forty-eight." He says quietly. Ash nods. Storm pulls her into the midday sun. I want you to go home and study this, study it intensely. All of your family and friends have been notified not to bother you. Once you have finished reading Humanity, you will be shown what you're going to do once you arrive on the surface. This will take four days, you will perfect and develop your own style. Twiggy will teach you the ropes." Ash's heart began to thrum against her will. Storm smiles sympathetically. Her heart beats painfully now. Storm looks too much like Twiggy. She knows it's an odd drug that has taken her. Storm looks at her. "Do you want me to help you become immune to our powerful charm?" Storm asks her seriously. Puzzled, Ash nods. Storm grabs her and kisses her, hard and long, the kind of kiss one would give to the person they adored with their entire beings. For the minute and a half, they are lovers. The next minute, Ash is blushing and touching her mouth oddly, that love stricken, glazed stare gone. She blinks, and her world is clear. She is not in love with Twiggy or Storm. Storm has an accomplished, but not smug, ghost of a grin. He is happy that she is not confused by amor, what he and Twiggy called the odd seductive power they had. She will make an excellent student, Storm thinks happily. For the next two days, Ash does nothing but read. She sits at her desk, alone, reading by firelight night and day. Storm observes her. Ash thinks a lot while she reads. She thinks about how her life will change. She wonders why humans are so corrupt. She wonders why her emotions aren't crazy like humans. "Homosapiens are an odd breed.
