I would hope they'd offer compensation for this. Obviously it's unlikely but it would be reasonably fair if they gave everyone who logged in today a single cat

It's a game. Sometimes things go wrong.
Just like in real life(if you can remember that long ago).
ATA do not have a duty to reimburse anyone. At best you are looking at an apology doctors note or something.

I was on a flight that got delayed because of mechanical problems once. Boeing gave everyone free airplanes.
