I keep thinking this. The issue I can see happening is people only hitting to get to the minimum drops to collect overall rewards then not hitting parties after that, which will cause parties to not move along like they should. Maybe if there was more of a personal lb? Styled like the new story pass/battle pass? (Hopefully I’m making sense). They can keep the community rewards part with tiers you collect after drop minimum but adding in something to keep people coming back to it. Or that might turn out the same as the way it is now but just a thought. I’m thinking maybe people won’t be as greed driven because eventually they will finish and not all at the same time so it would almost be like groups of people at a time helping push the party along. Instead of having a large amount of people spamming parties to be the top. This gives others who don’t plan on getting the rewards or using dns (or don’t have any) a chance still at getting the minimum and those who continue to help the party can earn more rewards. But with anything there’s still flaws with this idea. Thoughts on this?
Or I guess they could raise the drop minimum to collect community rewards. That could keep parties going. Was trying to think of ways for people who want to really work on the party get rewarded still.
Wasted dns and the hard hitters secured lb and stopped hitting because it maintained their spot. Deffo not a good idea for community events 😭
Did anyone else just completely forget about this event going on? Since the community party isn't on the "main page" (where the spinner, timer boxes, and club party is) I just forgot about its existence. Maybe it's just me, but I don't often swipe over to the other page, so I totally forgot about the community parties.
I do want to take the time to thank/appreciate what has been done to compensate for aforementioned actions. Good call to eventually change the difficulty of the party to a happy medium (and hope if more community events happen, this is the difficulty you stick to). Glad you refunded the extra dns people used on the party during which the max drops per player was cut in half without proper prior advisory. I do still think not having let that 1 party that was destined to fail go through was a poor decision as LB severely got affected over it. Community events shouldn’t have a LB, to avoid what happened this event being repeated in the future. Also thank you for using the proper channel (in-game newsletter) to let us know of changes that were made (eventually, but better late than never).
Bouncing off of what Nate said, thank you (ATA) for rectifying this. In the future the following would be to note: if there is a certain hit cap to be obtain please make counting this, some kind of visible iteration where we can see in real time logs regarding hits. If an event is indeed for the community, a leaderboard should not constructed because there is no “I” in TEAM. Party difficulties regarding these events should be considered PRIOR to release. I did notice the parties did start having a happy medium, please utilize this method(s) for the next event because it was well received.
I would personally say have no leaderboard, keep the minimum points needed to collect rewards and up the reward tiers. Like this event was around 6m points needed by the community and we got somewhere over 13m (don't remember exactly what it was). That way people would have to hit at least a certain amount to unlock the rewards, higher tiers would have people needing to keep hitting and no leaderboard of any sort would hopefully lead to more community cohesiveness rather than hostitly.
