Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe I believe it was made up by politicians a long long time ago to use as power to control people. and yes people like to use it as an easier way to explain the universe. (I know some) But religion has also brought happiness to people and changed people for the better (even though it's started wars too) but hey ho that's life and their isn't much we can do about it.
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe I think that people just need to believe in something. There are many kinds of "gods". I think the idea of another higher being is fascinating and somehow comforting. I can never prove this but that isn't the point for me anyway.
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe Atheist in a page 3 party, believer in hospital bed
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe Somedays I think how will ever go on if there isn't something bigger than me that exists outside of this universe. And then other days I'm just like whether there is or there isn't it really doesn't matter, it's never affected me on way or the other.
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe Lol, religion shouldn't be discussed in forums...
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe Discussion hasnt gone bad so I think this is a good thread for now
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe Forums be so dead tho, who's gonna start something if nobody's here?
Re: Question for the Religious, Atheist, and Spiritual Universe The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) is the deity of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster or Pastafarianism (a portmanteau of pasta and Rastafarian), a social movement that promotes a light-hearted view of religion and opposes the teaching of intelligent design and creationism in public schools. The Supreme Being is powerful and omnipotent. He is invisible, and nobody really knows how He came to be. He is depicted as a heap of spaghetti appendages with two meatballs and a pair of eyes attached to the noodly body through a pair of stalks. He is the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and according to the Pastafarianism Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, that was how the world began.
Yeah, the only absolute things in our universe are laws of physics and of nature. Our nature, the natures of our societies, the laws governing natural systems, etc. Nothing is more absolute or fundamental than those laws. Our knowledge of those laws may be flawed, though.
