Kaw did a pvp event that I thought was successful. You can steal drops from other players, which motivate the pvp even more so. You can opt out if you prefer to just party. Wouldn't mind seeing something like that brought here
The orange wars (not beta, a common mistake) were the last PvP event in pimd. This series of wars occurred every weekend over a period of time, dropping darts, I believe it was and the occasional avi. It also rewarded, if memory serves me correctly, cats to the top plunderer of each club. This was late summer/early fall 2014 if I remember correctly. Its been cited here that ata claims poor turnout is what affected the decision to cease the wars. What's commonly left out of that discussion is the sign up period/start up times hand cuffed most eastern hemisphere players willing to participate. It was evident that minimal effort was put into planning. Ata and the nay sayers can argue that lack of player interest is solely to blame for the demise of system wars and PvP as a whole but, its intentional deception and outright ignorance to claim that to be the source of ata's deliberate move away from PvP. I'm not arguing to eliminate parties, as some who prefer PvP do. Games such as GaW prove that PvP only apps don't survive. I can only vaguely remember pimd pre-cat cafe, I'm not a veteran of that era. I do think an equal mix, such as pimd c. 2014/15 with an actual effort by the devs to promote both styles would be ideal.
