Speakers are items you use to be able to talk on world chat/campus chat; one speaker per message. You'll start earning free speakers every day after opening rooms (6 I believe), up to a maximum of 5 speakers per day, 25 speakers total. You can also buy them from the Store; scroll all the way down, they are the last item on the list. They cost 1 Extra Credit (Orange gems) per speaker, and you can get Extra Credits from the nurse (top right hand corner in the store) or earn them by doing jobs (they drop randomly by doing jobs).
Volley is basically hiring a tutor repeatedly back and forth in order to make money. After you open all 32 dorms, you are considered Level Complete (lc) and there are no other rooms available for now.

They're called extra credits (EC) EC can be brought from the nurse using real life money, or by doing jobs which have a 2% drop rate.
