Josh The next morning, I awoke to hear noises -loud and disturbing- coming from Jodie's room. Immediately, I rose from my bed and walked out of my room, only to find Danzo outside Jodie's room, looking on with obvious frustration. I could hear more clearly now, it was shouting, and argument, and a heated one at that. I leaned against a wall next to him, and saw Qin and Jodie arguing, eyebrows furrowed, arms waved furiously in the air, gesticulating wildly with various hand gestures. "I don't wanna leave! I've grown used to this place!" Qin stamped her feet on the ground, whining. "You don't understand! Qin! This place is a wreck! There is no food here, let alone a proper couch anymore!" "But... But..." stammered Qin, thinking hard to come up with an argument to rebut Jodie. I raised an eyebrow and looked at Danzo. "When did this start?" "Forty-five minutes ago." sighed Danzo. I walked into the room, and between the two girls. "Ladies, please, although we are the last survivors on Earth, we need peace and quiet. We don't want any more beastly creatures knocking on our door; even though it has a SUV tyre jammed under it! Don't want Fletcher grabbing you in his good ol' beast mode, do ya?" The girls slowly stopped their heated argument after my intervention. "Sorry Qin... I... I shouldn't have snapped at you like that." Jodie apologized. "I'm sorry too, I guess. I know you want to move, and that's for the good of all of all.' Qin replied guiltily. "That's the way!" I cheerily said. Qin walked out to greet Danzo, and together, the siblings walked away. I went up to Jodie and kissed her forehead. "Morning Jod. So, we still moving?" "Probably." she replied. I turned away and shouted, "Pack anything you've got guys! We're leaving this wreck of a shelter!" I didn't have anything to pack, so i headed down to the living room and stared at the burnt LCD TV, with a feeling of sadness welling inside of me. The poor machine. We'd spent a week with it, watching movies we found stored in Naomi's room. Soon, all ten of us, including Sophie were ready to move out. Only Fletcher had belongings with him; a staff and the Book of Lore from the library. "Whoa... Whoa! You've had that book with you the whole time and you didn't tell us?!" I asked, bewildered. "Er yeah? You didn't ask for it anyway." Within an hour, I found myself weaving through masses of rubble and walking pass the façades of Austria. We were walking past countless destroyed homes an shops, when suddenly, we came across a cosy little café a few blocks away. We entered, and to our surprise, it's fridges were packed with food Joe rose to the occasion and whipped up a sumptuous breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. Let's say Sophie, got a little surprise. Her egg was arranged in a heart shape, which was all mushy, romantic, gross, and to think that it was Joe who did that! As soon as Sophie set her eyes upon Joe's 'masterpiece', she exclaimed in disgust, cutting the heart in half and giving half of it to Epic, who was glad to have an extra serving. I raised an eyebrow and looked at Joe, who was staring crest-fallen at Sophie. The food was delicious, but the rejected Joe barely touched the food, which was eventually fought over by Fletcher and Otto. Fortunately, next to the café was a bicycle rental store. I got a two seater, which I shared with Jod. Otto and Fletcher shared a two-seater as well, as the other six one-seaters had been snatched away by the others. "So where are we headed?" Epic asked eagerly. Sophie piped in, "How about we go to Arizona and then to the Grand Canyon, since all of y-" she stopped abruptly, her eyes flickering for a moment, changing to a misty grey. The others didn't see it, or notice it, but Jodie and I did. I now understood what Jodie had been worried about the night before. I exchanged glances with her. Sophie suddenly continued, "No... I know this place, a training ground. We can go there. To train. It's a Bice big open place with access to a lake, perfect for me to k- perfect for us to train." A sly smile spread across Sophie's face. I looked at Danzo. He had seen it too. But I didn't want to worry the others. Jodie, Danzo and me would just have to take care of her by ourselves... We continued on the road, and Ito a highway, headed towards a country side in Luxembourg. I could see a mist in the distance, we were getting closer to this 'Training Ground'. We had to find out what was wrong with Sophie, and soon, before anything bad happened. I didn't even get to complete that thought. A hard, solid force hit my side and sent me flying from the bike, along with Jodie. I crashed onto the hard Tarmac and skidded for a few meters, before colliding into a road barrier. I slowly stood up, to see a giant figure standing erect, towering above us and the carnage of twisted metal. Our bikes were destroyed. Otto was still lying in the floor, knocked out cold. Sophie hadn't been spared either, so I knew this wasn't one of her plans to kill us. The creature was a shade of ghostly white, steam lifting of from its body. It was cold. "An Ice Golem!" Fletcher exclaimed, changing into beast form. However, even in beast form, the Golem towered at least five heads above Fletcher. He tossed me the Book of Lore. I flipped through the pages quickly, looking up the Ice Golem. Ice Golem: An elemental creature, it attacks with ice and can withstand physical attacks incredibly well. Only elemental attacks can successfully destroy it. It has incredible power pack in it's punches, and usually uses it's ice power to it's advantage. It will freeze and enemy, immobilizing him in a solid block, or coffin, of doom. Once subdued, the Ice Golem will smash the ice cube with one of its power-packed punches, smashing its enemy to pieces o ice fragments. The enemy hardly feels death. This is one of the cruelest ways a monster of Lore kills its enemy." Epic's fists burst into flames. "If this bitch is made of ice, I'm gonna roast his ass!" A small print caught my eye from under the monster description. Many heroes of Lore have been fooled by this beast. Often, they attack an Ice Golem with fire, thinking it is their elemental weakness. However, this creature is one of the most unique in all of Lore. Not only is it immune to Fire, it uses it to become stronger. The Ice Golem is a weaker form of the Water Golem. Attacking it with fire only destroys its layer of ice, which suppresses its true Elemental Powers. The layer will melt as soon as it makes contact with Fire. And then it will be Awakened, gaining its true powers, and evolving into the feared Water Golem. My eyes widened in shock. "No! Epic! Don't!" It was too late. Epic fired off a wave of scorching flames at the Ice Golem...
