Oh no!! I'm gonna die!! I should have turned the kraken onto roasted-shocked Calamari, when I had the chance. I like this story more and more!!!
Josh I smiled at Jodiiee, and she smiled back at me. It wasn't her usual, cheery smile. It was half-hearted, as if something was troubling her. Something dark was clouding her eyes. She seemed... Distant. With her half-hearted smile plastered on her face, Jodiiee walked towards me and sat down, on the black sofa. I held her hand in mine. She looked up and smiled at me. Her hand was cold and clammy. Something was wrong. Her lips were pale. Her face was ashen. "Are you alright, Jod?" I whispered. She turned to face me and nodded. But I could tell. She wasn't alright. ----------------------------------- "So he was like, "Blimey! It's puking!"" I joked, and everyone broke out in laughter, except for Jodiiee. "Right Jod? Jod?" Jodiiee finally snapped out of her daze. She had been staring at the table, her mind clearly somewhere else. "R-right. Yeah. Hehe." she quickly stammered. Thoughts were racing through my mind. She had been distracted the whole night. What was happening? At midnight, all of us decided to go to bed. Everyone walked up the staircase, but at the stairwell, I quickly gripped Jodiiee's arm and dragged her out into the courtyard. She squealed in protest, but I just brought her outside. "What are you doing?!" "Jod... Are you alright? You've been distracted all night, and you aren't your usual self! Tell me, babe. What is going on?" "N-nothing. Don't worry. I'm fine." she smiled, stuttering. She was lying. "Don't lie to me, Jod. We've known each other for what... 10 years? I haven't kept any secrets from you, have I? What is there to be afraid of?" "You don't understand..." Despair was creeping into her voice. I was getting worried and annoyed. "I will, Jod. Just tell me what is wrong! If you don't tell me what is wrong, then how do you expect me to help? I want to help, Jod. Please, just tell me!" Jodiiee glared at me, staring straight into my eyes. Tears welled up at the corners of her eyes, and slowly, they trickles down her cheek. "I can't, Josh. I CAN'T!" Without another word, she twisted her arm from my grip and ran up to her room. I didn't want to sadden her anymore. I just stood there, watching her run up. Later that night, I heard sobs from her room. I sat in my bed, thinking hard. What was happening? What was causing Jodiiee to react this way? I felt guilty, and immediately, I jumped off my bed. I went over to her door, and knocked. "Jod... I'm sorry about just now... I was too hard on you..." I apologized. Muffled shouts came from within the room. "Just go away!" "Jod... Please. Just let me in. Please." Silence. A few minutes passed. I turned to go back to my room. I hung my head. What had I done?! The. The door flung open. Jodiiee came out and embraced me, her tears soaking my shirt. I went into her room with her, and I sat in a chair facing her while she sat on her bed, hugging her shins. "Jod... I don't know what to say... I'm sorry. I -" "No Josh," she interrupted "It's me who should be sorry. I've made a terrible mistake... I'll tell you tomorrow, ok? Please, I need some private time now." I didn't enquire further. I returned to my room, and lay on my bed. Without knowing, I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. Abruptly, I sat up in my bed. Sunlight was streaming through the window. A scream was reverberating around the house. I ran out as fast as I could, and soon, I found the source of the scream. It was coming from Naomi's room. As I entered her room, I saw her groaning in agony, clutching her stomach as she twisted and writhed in the ground. Jodiiee appeared behind me. I turned to look at her. She cover her mouth in horror. She looked shocked... No. Scared. Something had happened to Naomi. And this was because of Jodiiee...
Jodiiee Josh turned his face to look at me. Let's just say he didn't look happy.. "What the f*cks going on?! What's happening to her!?" he yelled, looking back at Naomi. She was still in emense pain, just like the Kraken had told me. Just like he had intended.. At this point everyone had all crowded around Naomi's room trying to get a glimpse at what was happening. "Dude? We gotta do something.." said Otto, quickly. "Yeah, we can't just stand around and watch.." Fletch said, finishing off Otto's sentence. "I'm trying!" yelled Josh. I could see in his face that he was getting stressed out. "Well doneeeeee..." hissed the Kraken. He was inside my head. "Thisssss isss perfectt.." "Jodiiee! Stop daydreaming and HELP me!" Josh yelled. I quickly snapped out of listening to the Kraken and focused on the situation infront of me. "You know what to do.. I can see it" he said. "See what..?" I asked, confused. Could he see the Kraken? "That look that you do sometimes, I can see it, something's in your eyes. You can control this, can't you? Do something!" he yelled, again. I looked at Josh, then to Naomi, fear in my eyes. It wasn't me that was causing this.. I don't want this to happen, the Kraken's the one that's controlling me. I snapped out of my little daydream again, only because of Josh. He was still yelling at me. I could hear Qin trying to stick up for me. "Leave her alone! She obviously doesn't know what's wrong with Naomi..". "Shh.. Stay out of this one.." said Dan. For him to say that, I could tell this situation was serious. "Josh, I don't know what's happening.." I said calmly. "Sure.." he laughed. "What do you mean sure? I -" "STOP ARGUING DAMMIT! HELP NAOMI!" screamed Joe. I sat next to Naomi's side and asked everyone if we could be alone. Everyone agreed, apart from Josh, but I was expecting that seeing as he was her big brother. "Josh.. I really don't know what you want me to do.." I sighed. "..I want you to help her.." he said frantically. "..Ok..ok, chill.." I replied. Josh paced up and down the bedroom, biting his nails. I held Naomi's hand, they too were all sweaty, and once my hands were latched onto hers, she wouldn't let go. I looked straight into her eyes, she looked desperate. "What's happening to me..?" she asked, panic in her voice. "..Well I.. I don't know exactly.. All I know is.. you're going to feel unbelievable pain, and.. Uhm..-" She let out another blood curdling scream. I shut my eyes tightly. That's when I heard the Kraken.. "Do you want mee to sssspare her life?" "Yes! Of course.." I said aloud. "Okay then...As you wissssshh" I opened my eyes again. Naomi was still screaming in agony, and Josh was sitting next to me. "Why did you close your eyes?.. Why did you say - " "..Shhh!" I whispered, putting my finger to my lips and cutting him off. He immediately did as he was told. The screaming had stopped, everything was fine again. Naomi just sat up like nothing had happened. "Is everything okay?!" called Dan up the stairs. "Y..Yeah..We're cool.." Josh replied. Naomi got to her feet and looked down at me and Josh. "..Uh, mind telling me why you're down there?" she laughed. "You're okay!" said Josh, breathing a sigh of relief, and embracing Naomi in a hug. I stood up awkwardly and smiled at her, then decided to let them both have some time alone. I slowly walked down the stairs, quite shocked at what had just happened. Everyone was downstairs looking at me as i made my way down. "Is Naomi okay?!" asked Qin. I smiled. "Yeah, she's fine." That was the all clear. The others rushed past me to go and check on Naomi. I can't blame them. I sat down on the sofa in the living room, thinking to myself. "Why would the Kraken let Naomi live like that? He said he wanted to kill us.. Not make us live.." I was so confused. Then, almost immediately, my thoughts were overtaken by the Kraken. "Well doneee.." he hissed. "Why did you do that?" I asked it. "Sssshe wasss jussst a tessst run. Jussst sso you knew what you dealing wittttth.. Your firrsst victim is Josshh.." My throat went dry. "I ssseee he'ss someone you liiikee...? My eyes started to become watery, a tear starting to form. I nodded slowly. "That'sss to baad.. I'll seeee you when you next see your loverrr, I guessss.." the Kraken hissed. And like a ghost, he was gone. I scrambled to my feet, and hurriedly packed up all my stuff. I cautiously tiptoed next to the banister, making sure everyone was in Naomi's room. Then, I made a mad dash to the front door. If I wasn't near Josh, then the Kraken couldn't get to him.. If I wasn't near any of them, then the Kraken could do no harm.. I didn't know where I was running to, I guess I only knew what I was running from..
This story might be down for 2 weeks, it depends on..situations. Thanks for reading though, and there will be more to come!
Jodiiee I didn't run far, only to the beach. The Kraken was constantly trying to speak to me, and I was in so much pain. "Can't you just f*cking go away?!?" i screamed at it. "You accepted thisss deal.." it hissed at me evilly. I could no nothing. I crouched down near a rock, leaning my back against it. I picked up grains of sand and let it fall with the wind, tears started trickling down my face. "I don't wanna do this anymore.." i sobbed. "Do it quicklyy then and it'll allll be overrr" it hissed again. The beach was dark, the stars were up, the only thing twinkling. A nice breeze was blowing my hair. I leaned my head against my knees and closed my eyes. I didn't realise how tired I was because I fell asleep not long after. I dreamt of my family. I dreamt of my little brothers 10th birthday. We had all gone out bowling. I remember my mum made him dress up so cute. He wanted to be a 'big boy' and impress all the girls with his smart clothes our grandparents had bought him. He was a smart little guy, and so cheeky. I dreamt of him winning, smiles and laughter all around. The dream was so realistic. "Wake upp..." hissed the Kraken. "Oh great, he interrupts my dreams aswell?" I thought. "Yessss, yess I do.." it hissed back. I forgot it could read my thoughts. I didn't open my eyes. From now on, I was going to retaliate. I wasn't going to follow his orders so I kept my eyes closed. "It's your choiiiice... But you will either drown here.. Them smalll creatures come up at sssunnrisee.. Balrog's sssurrround these beachessss.." it hissed. At this point I was too far in a deep sleep to hear, let alone care. If this was how I had to save everyone, then so be it. I woke up from the cold water hitting my foot, soaking my feet and bum. "Argh.. Crap.." I muttered. I got up from behind the rock and looked around. The sea level had come in, only by a bit though. "Jodiiee!" called Josh. I turned around quickly to see Josh running over to me. "Where have you been? I was so worried about you.." "Uhm.. Here" i replied. "You.. Slept here?" he asked shocked. I just nodded. We just stared at each other for a few seconds, then he embraced me in a hug. "You should come back.." he said softly. "I can't.. " I sighed, pulling away. "I've got to stay away from you guys.." "Why?" asked Josh, looking startled. "You saw what happened to Naomi. That was my fault.. If I stay with you guys, you're all going to die. You're in so much danger when you're around me now.." my voice trailing. Josh moved closer to me. "..But why?" he asked gently. "Because.. That Kraken that Fletch killed, it's in me Josh. It leaked poison in the water when it was dying. I was the one who got infected, and now he wants his revenge. He wants to kill you, to kill us all, through me.." my voice getting dryer. Josh looked stunned. "See what I mean now?.." I asked. He just slowly nodded at me. "..But you can't go. I love you.." he whispered. I sighed. "I love you too, but I have to." I said, looking down at the ground. Josh pulled me into a hug again. "Gooood work... Now you can kill him.." . The Kraken was in my head. I flinched. "What's wrong?" asked Josh. "Josh.. You gotta do what I say now.. before it's too late" I started to say quickly. "Run. And don't you dare come near me, the Kraken.. he just spoke, he wants me to kill you, now.." I continued. "Oh.." said Josh, quietly. I pulled myself away from Josh and started walking away from him. "No! Come back!" he called. I could hear footsteps behind me. He was following. I didn't turn around, just continued to walk. "Please stop!" he cried. He touched my hand, and I turned around. My eyes black. "The Kraken.." Josh said aloud. "What do you wantttttt?" it hissed. "I want you to leave her alone, die!" he yelled. "Itssss not going to be thatttt eassssy" it chuckled. "I'll do anything.." Josh said. Suddenly the Kraken lashed out, and made me grab Josh by the throat. "Look at himm...sssseee him sssufffferr!" the Kraken hissed, giving me back my eye-sight. I couldn't control my grip, I couldn't control anything. I looked straight into Josh's eyes. "I'm sorry..." I sobbed. "It's ok.." he choked. "I know it's not you.." My grip tightened. The Kraken was clearly getting angrier. I had no control over my eyes, the Kraken was forcing me to watch my best friend die. I could see Josh's face turning a pale shade of Colour, the veins in his neck slowly becoming more and more visible. All I could do was keep on saying sorry to him. Josh kept his eyes open the whole time too, which made it more and more upsetting and disturbing. "Close your eyes.." I cried. "No..." he choked. "I want to see you.." "But this isn't me! Like you said.." I sobbed. He stayed silent, his face turning lifeless. "Josh!" I screamed. My hands were still fixed onto his neck. Suddenly I heard someone scream 'No!' at the top of their lungs. The kraken made me turn my head to see who it was, still having my hands wrapped tightly around Josh's neck. It was Naomi. She was stood ontop of a small hill. I turned my head back to Josh. She'sssss jussst a disstraction.." it hissed. "Continue!" My hands gripped even tighter. My eyes forced to watch Josh die. At this point he was practically dead. "No!" I sobbed. "DIE!!!!" screamed Naomi. Suddenly a large ball of electricity was fired at me. As soon as it hit me the Kraken let out a blood curdling hiss that drowned the air. The pain was excruciating. I looked at Josh, a tear streaming down my cheeks. "I'm....o..okay" he choked. At that point I let go of his neck, and we both fell to the floor. Josh was lying next to me, slumped in the water. My body was sore all over. "N...N..No.." hissed the Kraken weakly. He was dying.. "..D, Die.. You son of a b*tch..." I stuttered. And with that, I felt a force, something so powerful, lift up out of my body and diminish into nothingness. That's when I passed out from the pain of Naomi's electricity bolt. Me and Josh were lying next to each other, Naomi racing down to the beach, screaming our names.
Josh I watched helplessly as Jodiiee collapsed next to me in the shallow water. I tried to reach out to her, but I couldn't feel my arms. My whole body was numb. "Jo... Jod..." I choked. I tried to wiggle my fingers. I willed them to with all my willpower, but it was no use. My fingers just lay there in the water, white as snow, limply hanging from my palm. And then my eyesight went black... And back to normal again. Then it went black. I couldn't see anything but darkness, and I felt awful. The colour of the Earth had reduced to nothingness. I knew I was losing consciousness. In the distance, I heard someone shouting for me and Jodiiee. The voice was distant, and unclear. I was to groggy to hear properly as the undefined sounds resonated in my ears. I was getting frustrated. I couldn't do anything. I was conscious, that was for sure, but not only couldn't I see anything, I couldn't move my body! It was numb, and even pain couldn't prevail over the numbness. I willed with all my might, gritting my teeth, in a desperate attempt to move my body. I couldn't. I just couldn't. I shouted in frustration. And suddenly, I felt like I was dropping into a never ending abyss of darkness. BAM! My eyesight had returned... Or had it? There was Jodiiee... But no... This wasn't the present. No... The Nicholas Flamel Inn... Yes. This was where it all begun... "Whiskey as usual?" I inquired "None of your business." I had heard all of this before. Crash The unfortunate man who landed right into the path of an incoming car. His disfigured face... Why was all this coming back to me?! Keith at the bar... Then the spotless white sheets... Jodiiee emerging from the bathroom, drying her hair... The apocalypse... Jerry... Supermarket... Qin... And Doritos... Jerry... Walking away from the group... Pisa... Epic... Fire... These images were going much faster than before now, as they slowly but surely revealed the timeline of our post-apocalypse predicament. Secret library... Fletcher and Otto... The secret book... Apoc and Naomi... Lil' sis... The Horntails... Poisoned... The Balrog... The Kraken... Death... Danzo, time... And Jodiiee... Clutching my throat... Jodiiee! I opened my eyes, and immediately shielded them with my arm. My eyes were screaming in pain as the sunlight burned my unaccustomed eyes. I lifted my arms... At least I was able to move... Then I scanned my surroundings... The usual hide-out... Just that this was... Naomi's room... And as if on cue, Naomi popped back into the picture. She appeared out of the blue next to me, checking my pulse. "Normal... A bit slow... No imminent threat." she whispered to herself as she furrowed her eyebrows in deep concentration. I sat up and pushed past her, jumping off the bed, ignoring her protests. I made my way to Jodiiee's room, stumbling and tripping on myself the whole way like a newborn foal. Mental note: Never let a hot chick strangle you again. Losing consciousness = Ability to walk like a retard. I commanded the door to open and scrambled into the room. Jodiiee was sitting at her bed, drinking a weird concoction that strangely looked like... Urgh... Prune juice. Jodiiee stared at me in surprise. I ran forward and embraced her. She started sobbing away, babbling apologies. I hugged her as tight as I could, grateful that I still had the opportunity to. I gently stroked her hair and thought of the dangers ahead. Jodiiee had almost managed to kill me. If that was the case, then wouldn't we even more dangerous creatures in the distant future? The mere thought of it made me anxious. What could possibly be worse than the Kraken? The worse part was that it would almost definitely, be trying to annihilate us all.
This post is the th post for the thread of Pandemic since it's creation on the 20th of April 2011! This marks a historic event! A historic time! Congratulations, Jod! We have made HISTORY! ~Random dude
Josh "Don't ever do that again. Don't run away. The only people who will stick with you through thick and thin are us... You need us. We need you equally as much. But I need you the most." I held Jodie's (Ok I give up I am NOT going to type 'Jodiiee' again. It just seems weird...) shoulders with my out-stretched arms, looking her in the eye. She looked at me with her cloudy eyes, not knowing what to do. Then she slowly whispered, "Ok... I won't run away ag-" Crash! Jodie was cut short by a deafening crash. The sound of a horn blasted as someone, or something hammered the horn of a car. Immediately, Jodie and I filed out of the room, to meet Naomi, Fletcher and Otto in the corridor. We exchanged glances. Worry was written all over Naomi's face. Apoc's face was emotionless as usual, and Fletcher morphed into a beast, growing tremendously in size, his head almost touching the ceiling. I put a finger on my lips and signaled for everyone to remain silent. We cautiously tip-toed down the stairs and into the living room. The whole wall had been destroyed, the bonnet of an SUV sticking out of the wreck of rubble and debris. A wave of fury swept over me. The driver was ingenious enough to drive straight into the 48" LCD TV, leaving it lying among the debris if brick, dirt and dust, sparks exploding from it every now and then. I cringed as a pillar elapsed nearby, narrowly missing Otto's head. Instantly, Otto's face turned and ashen grey upon realizing his close shave with Death. "What the f*ck is wrong with my life?! Even the pillar is trying to FU*KING KILL ME!" he hissed angrily, lamenting at his unfortunate predicament. Fletcher turned around to glare at him. If you thought Fletcher's glare in mortal form was bad, his glare in beast mode was terrifying. His yellow eyes seemed to burn with a vengeance, as if irritation was adding oil to the fire. The fire that was threatening to snap Fletcher's last thread of control. And I definitely didn't want to be in the same country as him if that ever happened. A thick mist if dirt and dust hang in the air and seemed to cling around objects. If enveloped Fletcher, and soon, I could see nothing more than his silhouette. Unknowingly, I lost sight of Jodie too. At once, I desperately searched for her and fortunately, found her leaning against a wall. I slipped my hand in hers. And all of a sudden, the thick mist was pushed aside as a figure revealed itself through the mist. She was female... Pink hair, bright pink, and piercing green eyes caught my attention. Then suddenly, all the debris stooped moving, ad the mist stood still mid-air. A falling brick stopped just in time, a whisker's length above the intruder's head. Danzo had made a foolish error. The intruder was sure to spot the stoppage of time. Immediately, she reached into her back pocket. I had to nip the problem in the bud. I emerged from cover behind the wall with Naomi and conjured a tactical knife. I gripped it tightly and held it to the intruder's neck. Danzo appeared next to me, and the next moment, was in front of the intruder, twirling the pistol she had produced from her back pocket with his fingers. Naomi teleported next to me. She grabbed the intruder's shoulder. I could feel her breath going faster, her heart beating harder. Adrenaline. Naomi sent a jolt down her left arm, not fatal, but enough to numb the senses. The intruder gasped for breath after being electrocuted. However, as if she hadn't been electrocuted at all, in a swift movement, she whipped out a taser from her front pocket and immediately tried the weapon on me. Too slow. I pressed the knife against her throat with more pressure. I could feel her gulping. I slowly whispered into her ear, the taser inches from my eye. "Uh-huh. I wouldn't do that I I were you. Now drop the taser, and I will spare your life." The taser dropped to the ground, it's electrocuting power going out upon release of the trigger. Immediately after releasing the taser, the intruder spun round and attacked me with a round-house kick directed straight at my left temple. Elementary tactical maneuvers were needed to avoid the pathetic attack. She spun round to face me, but I had anticipated the move. She stopped abruptly, her eyes widened in shock and her leg in mid-strike. She found a Raging Bull clutched tightly in my grasp, it's barrel pressed against her abdomen. Fletcher emerged from the curtain of mist and grabbed her around the waist, immobilizing her. She struggled and desperately tried to escape from Fletcher's grip. It was too tight. Fletcher never allowed anything to escape from his clutches. The eight of us approached the intruder. Jodie immediately questioned firmly, "Who are you? What do you want from us?" "The name's Sophie. And I believe I have some business with you."
