Josh "Jodie! Are you coming in?" "Sure, I'll be ore now!" she shouted over the relaxing lapping of the waves on the shore. We did all sorts of things teenagers would normally do on the beach; swimming, diving deep and jumping over waves, when Naomi suddenly voiced her idea. "Hey guys, see that little island there?", pointing to a large rock a distance away. "How 'bout we race there? Last one gets to do what we want him to do for 24 hours!", a smirk forming on her face. Everyone looked at her with 'We're-not-that-stupid' looks. Everyone knew by now that Naomi had supernatural speed. "Ok, ok! A 1 minute head start! That sound good to you guys?" I found myself in the water, with Jodiiee to my right and Apoc to my left. What did we get ourselves into? Naomi started the countdown. Three! I looked into the distance, and set my sights on the island in the distance. Two! I bent my knees, the muscles in them ready to spring out to give me a good start. Whatever happened, I didn't want to do whatever the dare would be. One! I inhaled deeply. Go! My legs lashed out, pushing me forward, and immediately, my arms began to swing as quickly as I could, doing the stroke of the free-style. Every time my head turned right and out of the water to inhale another mouthful of oxygen, I would catch a glimpse if Jodiiee, swimming as fast as she could. I was surprised she could keep up with me. Every time my eyes drifted to her, I would reminisce of the times we had together, before the eight of us were in this deep shit. I remembered her laughter, with was highly contagious. Every time she laughed, I found myself laughing too. Then my head hit something hard. I stopped abruptly, and looked up. The island. I had reached it. I turned to y right, Jodiiee already there laughing at me. "That was hilarious! You hit your head against the rock!" I blushed and laughed too. In the distance, I could see a fast moving object, taking over all the other five survivors. Without a doubt, I knew it was Naomi. She emerged from the water out of the blue, faster than I had anticipated, next to Jodiiee. Soon, the others reached the island, Epic arriving last. "Come on! Not fair! Otto was splashing water at me!" Epic whined, reluctant to accept his punishment. Blurp Everyone turned to look at Apoc. A gigantic air bubble burst below him. "Look who farted?" I joked, and everyone broke out in laughter. Apoc blushed and immediately retorted, "It's not me! Swear!" Then there giant ripples around Apoc "What the f-" Apoc started, when suddenly, a giant tentacle spiraled upwards, sending Apoc flying. Qin screamed. The island shook, and rubble and barnacles started falling of it. It slowly rises from the water, and soon, towered high above us. I summoned some light, and when the bolt of light exploded, all of us cringed at the sight of it. A Kraken. Ten tentacles soon emerges around it, water flowing of its slimy skin. It roared a deafening screech, baring it's razor-sharp fangs. Then its tentacles flew downwards, one headed for each of us. It came with so quickly, and with much velocity. In a blink of an eye, I found myself inches from one. Jodiiee screamed, and I quickly conjured two shields. I threw one in front of Jodiiee, which saved her from the first blow, but the shield was swatted away effortlessly by the beast. The tentacle came round for another strike. I was too busy holding off a tentacle driving at my shield. I couldn't save Jodiiee this time. And suddenly, it seemed as if time had stopped. The Kraken stopped moving. All of us panted from our attempts to fend against the tentacle onslaught. Breathlessly, I figured out what had happened. Time. Kronos. We had found the ninth survivor.
Josh "Let's get the he'll outta here!" exclaimed Qin. Immediately, everyone turned and swam away from the Kraken as fast as we could. Otto suddenly stopped, turning back to look at the Kraken. In front of the mighty beast, stood Fletcher, in a defiant stand against it. "What are you doing, Fletcher?" Otto shouted, bewildered. Fletcher didn't answer. He just stood there, motionless. Otto started making his way towards Fletcher. I exchanged looks with Jodiiee. What was Fletcher thinking? We didn't stand a chance against the Kraken, let alone himself. Without warning, a sentence rang in my ears, in a firm and solid voice. Norėdami mirties šis galingas žvėris būti "To death this mighty beast be put." Jodiiee translated, shock written on her face. Then a column of green blood erupted from the side of the Kraken's head. It screeched in agony, twisting wildly in pain. Soon, green blood was exploding from every inch of its body. It twisted and writhed in pain, its deafening roars renting the air. It pitched forward with a mighty splash. It jerked uncontrollably for a while, then slumped, lifeless, on the water surface. The water was green from it's blood, glowing eerily in the moonlight. Fletcher turned to face us, a wide grin of satisfaction on his face. With that, we made our way to the shore to meet the new addition to the league... As we reached the shore, I saw a figure standing proudly. As I stepped out of the water, our faced leveled. Shock was present on his face. I couldn't believe my eyes. "Danzo?" "Josh?" I chuckled and fist bumped Danzo. I shouted over my shoulder, "Qin! Look who's here!" Qin ran to me and saw Danzo. Squealing in delight, Qin ran forward and embraced Danzo. "Big brother! You're alive!" "Qinny!" Danzo laughed, tugging Qin's hair. Jodiiee walked up to me, "You know him?" "Yeah," I replied "We were college mates at PIMD..." Jodiiee nodded. That was enough information for her. We introduced each other, and headed back to our hide-out.
Jodiiee I was behind everyone again as we were all walking back. Surprise surprise. I was a slow walker, what could I say? I was watching everyone walking together, wondering to myself if we would find the last survivor. Thinking to myself; "This is it.. I watched Otto and Fletch walking together. I watched Naomi and Hadess? (Still wanna be called Apoc in this?) walking together. I watched Josh and Epic walking together. I watched Qin and Dan walking together. I watched them all chatting away, all in their own little worlds. Qin couldn't stop looking up at Dan adoringly. It must have been torture not knowing if he was dead or alive. My tummy gave a little churn. I realised that I was walking on my own. I didn't have Qin anymore, she wasn't going to hold my hand much now because she had her big brother. I looked up at the sky, wishing and hoping that someone was looking down at me, wondering if I was okay. "Maybe, maybe the 10th survivor is someone I know..Family? Friend?" I shivered and continued walking. It took ages to get back to the place where we were staying, still no cars in sight. By this point Josh had came to walk with me. "Sup?" he asked. "Nothing" I said quietly. "It's a nice night isn't it?" "Yeah.. I guess" he laughed. My tummy churned again, this time it was much more painful. I lent down in agony, hoping Josh wouldn't see. Unfortunately he did. "What's wrong?" he asked curiously. "N..Nothing. Cramp in my leg" I joked, giving him one of my half hearted laughs. He looked at me suspiciously. "If you're sure.." he said slowly. "YO! Josh, come over here for a minute man!" shouted Epic. They say "saved by the bell".. This was a perfect example, except I was saved by Epic. "I'll be right back." Josh said. "Coming!" he said as he ran over to Epic. "Phew.. I thought. We had entered the house we were staying in for tonight. It was very modern. Too modern, I thought. Get this, the doors were automated, you would have to give it a command in order for them to work. That was probably the only highly modern thing that was there. We all sat down in the living room on plush black leather sofa's. I had managed to set out some Nachos and fruit on the coffee table for everyone to munch on. For such a modernized house, there wasn't much food. It still made me feel awkward that we were in someone else's house, sleeping over, eating their food and just generally using it as a place to crash for the night. This was going to get a lot of taking used to. As I was eating my tummy kept churning like it did before, this time, much more painful. Like it was destroying something inside my body. I couldn't stand the pain any longer. "I'll be right back." I said, putting a smile on my face. I quietly moved out of the room and made a mad dash to the bathroom. "Open." I commanded the door. Instantly, the door made a fierce move, and opened. I ran in and ran over to the sink. "What's happening to me!?" I thought, as I stared at myself in the mirror. As I stared in the mirror, it wasn't my reflection that I was seeing anymore. It was the survivors, it was everyone downstairs. "I know these people.." I thought, totally confused as to why I was seeing this. They were all sitting down, chatting away, Fletch was standing up playing Charades. "Why can I see this!?" I said aloud. Everyone downstairs must of heard me because I could see them all putting their hands to their lips, ad if to say shh. Then Josh called up the stairs asking if I was okay. "I'm fine!" I shouted back down. I watched him through the mirror, re-enter the living room and sit back down with the others. I let out a sigh of relief that he didn't come upstairs. Then the pain hit me again. I had to hold onto the bathroom sink. "Freaking hell!" I yelled, quietly. I looked into the mirror once again, another image reappearing. I could just about make out what it was. It wasn't a human.. It was the Kraken that we all saw earlier on. I flinched back a bit, bit barely as it was hard to move, it hurt to move. It hissed at me through the mirror. "You killlled meee.. You alll diiiiid.. You dessssserve to die." At this point, I was defenceless. "What do you want?" I whispered. I couldn't help but think it was a bit funny. I was whispering to a mirror. "I want to becomee alive agaiiiin.." he hissed. "You can't, you're dead! You'll always be dead now." I hissed back. "No! No I won'tttttt.. You sssssee deaarr, i planted poisssson in that waterr when you killedd me off.. Everyone in the waterrrr would have got infected.. You're obvioussssly the firsssst. The othersssss will experience emenseee pain with you later onnn.." "Ifff I do you a dealll.. Will you take it?" I was speechless. "W..what deal?" I managed to stutter. "I'll take away your paiiiin.. You'll be the lasssst to ssssuffer.. "I don't wanna suffer" I nodded in agreement, transfixed on this deformed creature. "Of courssseee. You want your friendssss to ssssuffer.. Now.. I need somewhereee to ssssstay, I can't live in a mirrror. Will you accept my deal if you're the lasssst to diee. You'll watch the lassst of your kind die.. Thisss will be ssssweet revenge" the Krakon hissed. I stared at the creature for what seemed liked forever. Fear and guilt washed over me, suddenly realizing what he was going to do. "N..no!" I stammered. "Too late.." it hissed evilly. Before I knew it, like a ghost, he lifted forward from the mirror, and straight into my body. The force was so strong it pushed me to the floor. I got up, regaining my balance. I felt awful, but the pain I had earlier had gone. I walked downstairs and rejoined everyone in the living room. "You were ages!" laughed Naomi. "When you gotta go, you gotta go!" I joked. Everyone laughed with me. Outside I was laughing, but on the inside I was dying with what I had just heard. It was the Krakon. "Well doneee.." ithissed. "You ssspoke to Naomi.. You sssaid 'you gottaa go when you gottaa go' .. Her time issss now.." I dug my hands into my stomach, hoping that I would somehow damage this damn creature. I looked and Naomi. I looked at everyone around the room, watching them all chattering away, laughing. Things were only just getting back. Why does this have to happen? "What have I done..?" I thought to myself.
