-I look at Luke-

 

-I glance back to Jacob-

Jacob: I. I, I walked home, we don't live too far from the castle, and. And, I got there, and there. There was a a little bit of, of, of, blood on the floor, and there were scratch marks on the walls, like someone had a sword, and they weren't there

 

Jacob: I don't think it was an assassin, I think it was some kind of thug, with a crude blade

 

-She stares silently-

 

- I look at him sadly -

That's terrible

 

"Oh....Sorry about that....Your family asked me to take care of a rat problem and I forgot to clean the blood up....The scratch marks are from where I missed with my dagger. Your parents went out to eat while I was doing it. I'm sure they're back now..."

 

Jacob: yeah, and I have no idea where they could've gone

 

-I stand there waiting for Luke to say something-
