The pet store i go to for buying my cat's food has a huge employee turnover rate. I once asked one of the girls about it and she said it's hard finding people who actually know how to care for animals (since a lot of ppl think they do but don't). The biggest issue she said was in their grooming station sometimes the dogs who didn't know each other would get in confrontations and then the new people would not do anything or not know what to do so they had to be fired :/
^ That partly sounds like a lack of training on the pet store. One of the first things I was taught was how to handle confrontations and to notify a manager immediately over our walkie-talkies, and we have a system for marking dogs down that are either aggressive towards other dogs or aggressive towards people so all employees are aware of potential issues prior to handling the dog. One of the supervisors above me, and one of my managers, both have degrees in animal behaviorism so they are professionals and do their best to teach the employees.
Usually my nope-ing point is about 6-7 months. But the quickest nope I’ve ever had was a week I do believe. Worked in a sort of “convenient store” at our college campus. They sold drinks and snacks and had a sandwich making spot in the back. Like a little funky subway set up. I had to wear this god awful hat. I didn’t make it.
A month and a half, I tried to make it work? I was an independent contractor that was delivering newspapers back in 2015, and it was a stupidly easy job for me to do while I was in community college. Although I was right in the sense it was stupidly easy (just put the papers together, bag them, and toss them out the car window), it also took a lot out of me mentally. It was 7-8 hours per night, 7 days a week. I only made $0.45 per paper and $0.10 per insert, so I gave my 30 day notice after working a couple weeks.
The definitely sounds like it would be extremely boring and lonely i don't blame you also i don't know very many people except like... the elderly that regularly read print newspapers anymore oof
