  1. I suffer through it. Even though i know i shouldn't. Last job i was at for almost 6 years and it actually caused a lot of my depression the last few years, so yeah.

I tend to have issues with standing up for myself.

  2. Awwwss.. I hope you find something better.

  3. I did actually! Just started a really amazing job this week!

Just took me a long time to walk away from it all.

  4. I worked 6 months in a kitchen as a cook. worked 12 hours a day 6 days a week, ended up getting really sick i had pancreatitis and was vomiting multiple times daily and it got so bad that one saturday night during the middle of the rush i fainted and they asked me if i could stay late and close for the manager.. asked me to come in to work every day even though i was sick they said they needed me anyways and me not being able to say no i went in every day until i couldnt, started calling in sick and it took them 3 people to cover my prep lists. its been 2 years since that i still get staff discounts on meals when i go in for dinner

  5. I'm glad you like it so far! :) I hope it works out for you in the long term.

  6. This sounds shįtty but that's p standard for kitchen workers. Imagine being one of them folks who does it for 20 years+

  7. I worked at a butcher shop for a few months about 15 years ago. Got a flat tire about 30 feet from the building one day, called in and said I'd be late. The owner cussed me out and called me a liar. I told her to look out the window.

Then I changed my tire and went home.

  8. Love it.

  9. Why did you quit

  10. Which job and what happened? If you dont mind me asking

  11. I laffed

  12. I was in the beauty industry. There were a number of things that happened.

One situation that really stood out to me was once one of our helpers got a little bit of wax on the carpet (by accident of course, could've be an easy fix) in front of my boss/owner of the business and she cussed her out in the hallway of the spa, loudly i might add. Calling her useless and swearing loud enough for clients to hear in the rooms. That employee walked out that day, justifiably.

I witnessed a lot of rough situations, wasn't involved in too many. But i wasn't being given what i was worth, and most, if not all of us felt very replaceable even though our talents showed otherwise.

It's very bitter sweet having left. I still have amazing memories there and a lot of relationships i left behind, but just couldn't deal with it anymore.

That was more venting than i thought that would be ?

  13. My first job as an engineer in a software startup, i left in a couple hours. Thankfully there was no bonds

  14. anyone who would turn their backs against doggos should be shamed :(

  16. Chipotle. Quit on the second day.

  17. Oh i still work in kitchens its been about 7 years now but yea

  18. I wouldn't say I quit but I've asked to be transferred to another site.

I've been working with an custodial company for about 2 years now that cleans schools. My first site was an huge middle school with 3 floors I've worked my first year as hard as I could my supervisor amd his boss wanted me to become the next supervisor since the old one was moving soon so i got trained and all over the summer but when school started my worker's which were all over 50+ except one who was 18... The older ones all complained I wasn't good enough cause my age(23) which they constantly complained and complained that made things very frustrating and they would never listen to do simple tasks, they started harassing the other young person, and were always running around last minute blaming me i made them late cause I didn't help them (even though each of had a section of school to do) and then they started calling my boss saying i disappeared for hours and never cleaned my area so this went on for two months and i told my boss i couldn't do it anymore and i got transferred with the other young person to an smaller school and its been great things aren't so stressful and some how i still have my supervisor status even though I work with one other person 

  19. I once worked at a job that gave me shítty/not enough hours but I dealt with it because I desperately needed money. I “noped” out of it right after a convo I had with my boss. I wanted more hours and she said she’d let me work more if I clocked in under someone else’s name. And she’d “pay me the difference in cash”. I noped our literally right after. Just walked out. The name she wanted me to use didn’t even work there.

  20. Tbh you'd be surprised how many people (a.k.a. 16-year-olds) start working and quit after a day or two because they didn't realize that taking care of dogs (and cats) meant you would have to also clean up their shıt... even though the work application informs you that you will be doing that and that the job isn't all just playing with dogs

I can't tell you how many times I've been training a new employee and they scrunch up their nose and go like, "Wait, we have to clean up their poop?" Like honey, it would be more disgusting to NOT clean it up...
