I, personally, don’t think it matters the gender when it comes to being a nurse, teacher, etc. because it can be a sort of hit or miss situation. If you’re fit for the job and can do it well while taking care of the individual(s), great. I believe I’d be fine leaving myself or a child I was caring for in the hands of a man or woman if they have shown they have the skill to take care of a person.
I put an ad in the "paper" for my tutoring service, and on a handful of occasions I was asked my gender. Each person who asked said no when I said I was male. I don't take it to heart and I don't think schools are biased in their employment, however there may be cases where a parent would want their child moved to another class because of it. It's a small issue but just as much an issue as the nurse bias.
That's for your safety just as much as the kids. I don't leave my kids with men so nothing can be said. No accusations can be made by anyone against anyone. Sometimes there are crazy people in the world that accuse innocent people of nasty things. For example, if the parents are getting divorced they will sometimes accuse each other of leaving the kids in the care of someone "unfit.". Or jealous neighbors who just wanna cause problems. You get the point, there's some people that are fücked in the head.
Wao, thank you for this. It gave me a reason to finish my doctorate more. ? Though I work at the hospital and perform surgeries and such, being in med field is great.
