Ya but do depression pills actually help? There's really no true way to stop depression. If ur very depressed can anything reallyyyy change it?
I took medication for depression while I was in college. It definitely worked for me until I snapped out of it. I also saw a counselor. Sometimes, pills make you feel more depressed and cause other negative reactions with your body. If this ever happens to you, you should consult your doctor about changing medicines so you can get one that works.
Yes depression pills actually help, and you can recieve a good amount of relief. Like I said, depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. That imbalance is what is causing all of your symptoms. Depression medication balances out the chemicals. It takes about a month to reach the full effect, but you should start feeling better within a few days. If you do not experience full relief, that means you need to try a different medication. That's why I said you need to be completely honest with your therapist. They are there to help you, but you have to tell them what's going on. A lot of people suffering depression are "cured" eventually from routine visits to a therapist and taking medication. Eventually the brain will know what it needs to function properly. Some people will have depression their life, and may need to remain on medication. For others it may go away, and then something major happens (death of a loved one...) and triggers the depression again. But there are always ways to find relief.
ok ive never tried suicide and im not depressed or anything so im just reading all this and i have an oppinion, could be wrong, but its my personal oppinion so.... anyway. suicide is neither selfish nor unselfish it is a personal thing when people feel like they have generally had enough of life, if your numbers up, your numbers up and thats bad luck, but if you fail? isnt that a sign?! a sign that this world truly needs you, dont test that 7 times, who knows, you could invent a cure for skin cancer. all im saying is have hope, when you give yourself a second chance by failing suicide, take it to heart, think to your self, i've hit rock bottom, the only way i can go from here is up
The problem with depression pills is that you would get addicted to it after a few months. Look at Michael Jackson, from the once strong and good looking man in the 80s to a sick and feeble man in the 21st century. Depression pills are just stress pills. They are only a temporary solution but, after long term usage, you can never live without it. That is why you should exercise,to release all the endorphins in your brain, these chemicals actually makes you feel good and also helps train your body. Everyone has a low point in their life but what makes everyone different is how they handle it, never EVER try suicide as you were born to live, no to die. Even if you hate your parents or your parents are not with you anymore, we must remember we, as mankind, were born to survive, if anyone commits suicide, then the purpose of mankind is not fulfilled. The reason why the suicide is a failed attempt, is that the animal instinct inside of us made us hesitant, and thus we screw up the process of suicide, which is a good thing. Suicide was never the answer, and it should stay that way.
Ha10, I'm just wondering what background you have in this? Because I do have a background. Took psychology courses myself, and I have a family that's in the psychology field, including my mother being a psychotherapist. Not all depression medication is addictive. Zoloft, celexa, trazadone are fine. When you're on it your whole life it's because your body cannot function with out them. (Some people will have depression their whole lives. Others for a few months, the rest a couple of years.) They are not "stress pills" they actually correct the chemical inbalance in your brain. When you have true depression, exercise and such will not cut it.
that's what I have. I play hockey a lot but lately it hasn't cheered me up much which it usually does. Which makes me more fucking depressed
Hunter, nothing to be ashamed of. I've had depression an anxiety for 10-11 years now. Just try and get the help you need.
