When people say (this is the one I usually hear) "I have friends that are black" especially when they say something that could be taken as derogatory
Oh....I heard some prefer being called black cause when people say they're African American and they're actually jamaican or something, they find it offensive and stereotypical.
I prefer black instead of African American because I, nor did any of my living relatives, ever set foot in Africa. And, since I'm not from Africa, I don't see why I have to legally be called an African American. But I can see their point too. I'd hate to be Jamaican or something, and be called African American....
Yeah, I prefer saying someone black. But I don't cause I try to avoid being offensive. It's not as bad for me cause I'm used to people calling me everything in the world. Korean, guamese, Japanese, Chinese, Asian (one person thought it was a specific ethnic background lol), and even black (they use the n word).
I can understand that. But i hate it in history classes when a teacher mentions African Americans, then looks at you to see if you agree or something (that happens every now and then to me)
And every time someone drops the n word...if I know they don't mean it, I tell em they need to take it back. And they do. But of they do mean it...it always ends in a throw down
Yeah people are so frustrating. If anything is said about the Philippines, good or bad, all eyes are on the only Filipino girl in the room. Lol. Ryan hunny...look in the mirror
I hate white people too. Segregation was so awful. I hear stories of it from my mom who grew up in Baltimore.
What I really hate is when a teacher asks me if its black history month and when other people ask me if it's black music month. It's really common knowledge (I think. I hear about it all the time. But that's not really saying anything....)
Ryan...your super white... Is it bad that I prefer white guys? I'm not sure why...but then again...the only other race I've dated was a Mexican...
