It isn't true either.

The last post wins a giraffe thread by dittle was the longest standing but essentially all it was was spam so it was locked. This came after all of that and Adelynn also cleared it with moderators. The purpose of this thread had been to cut back on junk threads as well as random conversations taking place on pre-existent threads. So for example, instead of a thread about baseball being locked for people about having a conversation on Unicorns, the beach, and candy, the baseball thread could stay open and the people could have their conversation about the random things on another thread.

And Skeleton, if you created the thread in order to beat the largest thread, that means you do care about having the biggest thread.
