Does it do anything bad like are u stuck with it once u put it on? And does it have to be on multiplayer?

No it depends on the mod whether you can use it on single or multiplayer and you can just uninstall the mod if you don't like it

I have never been on multiplayer...

 

You can create your own server and only let your friends in. But I don't know if that affect mods...

 

It just depends on the mod I believe.
