We made it into a forest and sat down. I started a fire as Skye pulled out the blankets and set them down. We talked for a while and then sat in silence staring into the fire
Ok I'll continue from tht last part We decided to go to bed and get some rest for another day running to Philadelphia, one of the free cities. I woke up hours later hearing people talking. "Skye wake up!" I whispered over starting to pack up my blankets. "Huh, what?" she moaned. "Shhh! We gotta get out of here somebody is coming" I quickly replied. "What?!?!" she whisper yelled at me jumping up and packing her stuff. "Ok, let's go!" she said with determination. They were very close now so we quickly fled. They must have heard us because I heard somebody say "Hey I think somebody is over here". That made us run even quicker but then we heard a voice yell "Stop right there you kids!". Of course we didn't stop and they chased us. We hid in a ditch and waited for them to pass by. Though, with my luck, they stopped right near us. "We have to find those kids so split up! The boss will be outraged if he learns we let 2 kids escape that are probably different number lovers!" an older sounding man barked. I heard footsteps walk away and looked at Skye. Her green eyes huge from terror. I felt guilty, I made her do all this when I knew how much she didn't want to do it. She only did it because she loved me so much. I held her hands praying we would be safe and waited forever. We ended up falling asleep in the ditch and woke up dirty but safe. I peeked out and looked everywhere. "Seems clear" I whispered jumping out. I leaned down, grabbed her hand and help her out of the ditch. "Alright, let's get going to Philadelphia" I tried to sound enthusiastic with a smile. She sighed and put on a weak smile. Then we set off trying to be happy for each other.
