  1. Is youtube silencable?

  2. Actually, look up on your search engine Bullying en Mexico. There should be an article from a website from Mexico-it's in Spanish but you've lived there so you can read it ;) it talks about the increase in assaults and aggressions among students. I'm sure if you look up the same subject for different parts of the world you'll probably have similar findings; unfortunately this isn't a problem that only "lives" in the United States, which is why it is important to recognize it and do our part to stop this abusive behavior 

  3. Yeah yeah, what I meant is that I have mever eard about this "October anti bullying month" in tese countries I mentioned, because DarkRose stated this "month ocassion" exists worldwide.
Bullying exists all over the world, I'm not denying it, I have found bullying in the countries I lived in, some more than in others, and I'm not happy with that.
In mexico it's also a very hot topic.

  4. Melnik, the "national" part of rose's title does suggest it's a country-specific event. Yes, that country is the USA. In a similar fashion, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a US dealio.

Breast cancer is a universal scourge. Bullying occurs in all corners of the globe. I think Rose just wanted to shine a light. 

  5. I agree Abby ;)

Thanks for clarifying Melnik, I apologize about the confusion; yeah it is disturbing to find it happens in so many parts of the world :(

  6. Rose, Thank you for takin your time to write this great piece.

As someone who has been on both sides of the situation, in real life and in PIMD, I make a conscious effort to slow down and think about what I is happening before it goes too far. I only hope more people would do the same thing. Being bullied hurts and being a bully, once you realize what you have done, hurts. We do not need to live out lives that way.

Thank you again dear and I hope ATA stickies this for the month, if not ever.

  8. We needed this. Great thread.

The woman has been invited to many talk shows and is using this experience to talk about the problem with bullying. It's a damn sight sad that it happened in the first place, but the way she's going about it now is great. She gets calls from people just telling her how sorry they are that she had to hear that. It's really...just wow.

The thing about bullies, though...you know those scenarios they tell you in elementary and middle school about how bullies only bully other people because of something else in their life? Yeah...I've honestly never seen a case like that. Granted, I go to a small school without much noticeable bullying in the first place. But still. The only bullying I've seen is because the bully can.

But stepping up is a good thing. It's needed. Quite often.

I'd post more. But this is long enough. .-.

  10. STOP BULLYING! I'm tired of teachers doing nothing!

  11. Through my whole life I've been bullied, due to my differences to most people, I myself came close to a no return path, not just me but many others out there, no matter how much we all try there will always be bullies, and their victims. People need to learn that being a bully isn't cool, it makes you look like a low life fool seeking attention by putting others in miserly. With months like this, it may reduce bullying, but what needs to be pushed out into the open, Is that as a victim of bullying, to keep strong, and know your never alone and there are many people out there who you can turn too for help, to those who suffer verbal bullying, remember these words:

Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

Rose, well writing and thank you for your time to give highlight to this topic which effects so many 

  12. I've never been bullied before so I don't know what it's like for the "bullied". I have bullied before but I guess once you grow up you learn differences between people and accept them. I do believe its also on the part of the victims to learn self respect and learn how to stand up for themselves. You can't expect a bunch of well written words to all of a sudden change someone's mind. Actions speak a lot louder than words. Having a backbone goes a long way in getting not only respect for yourself, but respect from others.

Well written topic Rose, but I think it's time for the victims to stand up. Like I said, you can't change the views of people for the past 100 or more years by just telling stories and, or speaking well. Take a step forward instead of backwards. Learn to put your fears aside and stand up and speak your mind. If you look back in time, did MLK just write some things down or did he stand up and fight? He stood up against all odds and maybe it didn't change racism 100% of the way but it certainly changed.

This month, take a stand for yourself and for others that are being bullied. Taking a stand does not mean bullying right back though. So if you want bullying to stop I suggest the victims learn to stand up

  13. Its funny how ppl post on this thread about their hate for bullies yet post bully comments on other threads.

  14. Just a thought:
Just like all things we struggle through in life, this is simply another hurdle. Conquer it, own it, if you get knocked down, dont stop. Even bullies start to wonder when you will figure them out and beat them

If this is about Cyber Bully situations.....just turn off the pc and live life. Others that know you will see the truth in things you do and how you live. Keep yourself out of situations that could be used against you online. In other words, dont do things that you wouldnt want made public.

    Btw, Rose, youre a bully

  17. Best Of worthy.  Bullying awareness 

Not gonna lie, I can say that I've been the bully and the bullied.

  18. When I was a kid I moved to Canada, didn't know a word of English, first day of school, a kid starts making fun of because of my origins... Waited till the bell rang and I kicked the living shit out of him... No need to say that after that no one in school ever tried to bully me... I did witness bullying and I always started a fight whenever I saw someone being bullied... I can't really say I've been bullied... But I can say I won't stand still if someone is being bullied beside me... I do joke around, but I only make fun of stupidity...
My daughter on the other hand was a victim of bullying... Till mom went to talk to the bullies 
