And honestly believe what you want. I don't care enough to change it. Js that history didn't begin in America, but do you have any documentation of your family from before their arrival in America?

African-American identity was made by amalgamating many older histories and combining them with American culture and oppression. However it is somewhat silly to select someone else's history and claim it as your own when there are so many and you can't have every history.

Is personal history shared by all African Americans, including the ones whose ancestors came from Europe? Because about 16%? of African Americans actually came from Europe.(based on memory. 6 or 16)

You don't need your identity to be based on your genes so I'm not tryna change it. But if you're basing it on a lie, you're basing it on a lie and that's all. Not saying it's necessarily bad or wrong for your to identify a certain way.

It just might not be based on reality, and finding the truth might change how you identify.
