A month has passed after my accident. My body has healed well, and I've bid Mr. Evans farewell. During that month, I've had time to think. Think about what you ask? Well, about life in general. I've thought about how society has been treating me about my weight. Just because I have extra parts of me hanging past the waist of my jeans, doesn't mean a person can make fun of me. If someone ever makes fun of me again, I'll be sure to ask them, "What's so perfect about you?". That'll give them something to shut up about. I've had it with society and it's cruelness. It's the first day back to MKHS and I can already feel what's going to happen. Today's the day I stand up for myself, I thought. I brushed my hair and put on my nicest clothes. As I pulled my jeans on, I noticed the wait was a little bit loose. Must've been the health hospital food they gave me, I thought. I grabbed a black leather belt and wrapped it around my jeans, making sure it was nice and tight. As my father dropped me off, nobody was outside the front of the school, not even the campus supervisors. I walked up the stairs of the main building and opened the door, darkness greeting me. Then suddenly, a loud "SURPRISE!" made me jump and shriek, people rushing up to me and handing me teeny tiny gift bags. "What's all this for?" I asked warily as I peered into the bags, ready for something to pop out from them. "To welcome you back to school, silly! We missed you so much!" A girl said cheerfully as she walked up to me with a huge teddy bear. I glanced at her and recognized her from the school's newspaper. Kylie Hazahara, the most popular and smartest girl in the campus, ranked number one on the top 10 juniors in our class. Her GPA was higher than a 4.6 in academics because she's taking almost all Advanced Placement classes. She is also in the junior committee, which explains how she knew I was absent for a month. Kylie handed me the large brown Teddy bear and carried my books for me to my first period, her junior committee friends trailing behind. Kylie spoke to me like we were best friends, which startled me because I never expected her to be so nice. She dropped me off to my first period and told me to have a wonderful day, which I doubt. The bell rung shrilly, and Kylie ran off, her flats softly clacking against the hard floor. As soon as she left, a group of loud girls came in and took their seats, different from the ones in the beginning of school. The teacher noticed me and pointed out my seat, which was in the last table of the class. Great, I thought to myself as I squeezed in between the packed classroom. As I sat down on my tiny chair, the guy next to me made an obnoxious farting noise. The whole class erupted into laughter, even the teacher tried to hide a smile. I just sat there, the bear in my arms as the whole class laughed and pointed at me. What a wonderful first day this is, I thought.
