I stood there,frozen until I heard the front door slammed shut. My sisters emerged from behind the doorway. I should have known they'd listen to the conversation. Julia sympathetically touched my shoulder. "Ethan... I told you that we don't trust her. The way she looked at you was obvious but you kept insisting" I sighed and nodded, a sign to say I understood that it was my mistake. Tasha sat me down on the chair and then both of them sat the opposite of me. "What are we going to do? We need the cure...but with this situation...I doubt she'll ever give it to you." said Julia. "I don't know..." [After a few days] I stood up from the couch and walked out the door into the cold dark night with a hint of an orange glow in the distance. I sat down on the porch and thought about some stuff. Ashlee and I met when we were kids, our parents are close friends. She's like a sister to me. Also, she was the one who introduced me to Kate. Ashlee was one of Kate's bestfriends next to June. They had loads in common and they would share anything with eachother but when Ashlee moved to Italy, they grew apart and that's when Kate met June. Apparently, Ashlee got jealous of her new bestfriend that she began to ignore Kate. I knew Kate missed her. To Kate, Ashlee was sort of a sister to her. Taylor was never around when she had certain sad times but Ashlee was. She comforted her, cheered her up and took care of her. I would have never of guessed that Ashlee was in love with me. She knew I had my eye on Kate and she didn't say anything. She let us be together and when she heard about our breakup, I guess she was trying to steal me from her but failed. My head was spinning and I was starting to feel cold. I grabbed my phone from the pocket of my hoodie and called June. I waited for a few minutes until she answered. "Ethan?" "Hey June! What's up? Umm...how's Kate doing?" She chuckled. "Nothing much...She's a little down. You can't last a day without asking how she is can you?" I smiled and shifted the phone to my left ear cause my right hand was getting numb. "I guess not. There's a problem...relating to Ashlee" "Really? Why? What's wrong with Ash?" "Oh nothing's wrong with her but she's in love with me" She grew silent and I kept asking if she was still there. "That's bad.Ethan, Do...you perhaps...um...like her?" "June...Of course not! Kate is the one, she's my everything! My oxygen, my heart, my whole universe! I can't even imagine loving another person besides her...I love her with all my heart and soul" "I know...That's really sweet of you though. Kate would be really happy if she heard what you just said but she's too busy thinking that her life sucks" "I wish she wouldn't. Her life is too short to be thinking that. Which means I need to get that cure as soon as possible" She agreed and hung up when Kate was near. I ran to Ashlee's house and silently climbed up to her balcony. I knocked on the door. It's took about 5 minutes until she opened it. Her eyes widened in surprise and I backed up when she opened her glass door. "Ethan...what are you doing here?" "Ash, we need to talk." "About what?" She stiffened and I realized she knew what I was going to say. I gave her a look and she understood. She sighed and let me in her room. I sat down on the chair and she sat on her bed. Her hair was let down and she wore silky pink pajamas. I look down at her feet and saw them covered in pink fluffy bunny slippers. She's a girly type of person. "Ash...You and Kate are bestfriends. Do you really want to steal me away from her?" "She's not! Anymore...she betrayed me for that June girl. And yes I do! I love you!" I sighed and look away. "She never did. Yeah she might not kept in touch but she missed you,alot. I heard her say that before and don't deny that you didn't either." She looked down and I could see by the way she fidgeted her fingers that she also missed her old friend.
