A non-binary person is someone who doesn’t identify as a man or a woman. Non-binary people use pronouns like they or them.
”Looking non-binary” only exists if you think everyone else 100% conforms to gender stereotypes, when um... 0 live human beings have ever done that
Non binary is somebody who doesn't limit themselves to one gender- whether it's how they label themselves, how they feel, how they dress, they are both genders or neither.
Both given definitions can be correct but I think the one Hot asf pumpkin gave more describes a gender-fluid person.
Ah yes that person that likes to cause drama. Y'all have fun with that. I got fun things to do tonight with my [minority] friends.
it’s just, if you think about it, as long as your definition rests on the presumption that every woman and every man 100% conforms to their gender and enjoys it, it’s the same old sexist bs wrapped up in liberal buzzwords.
Speaking as a token minority friend, you better be compensating them for every time you use them as an argument
You're not the only minority around here, so hop off that pedastal k. What do you demand I "compensate" with? Money, the blood of their enemies, food? My undying love and unceasing support isn't enough?
generally love and support is definitely enough. but once one starts using one’s friends and their lives as props, punchlines, to lend validity to one’s arguments, one is taking advantage of them.
I don’t know anything about you or your friends, that’s why I’m speaking generally and even even avoiding using “you” as a general pronoun in order to make it extra clear. In general, people don’t like being the [minority] friend brought up to prove a point in an argument. All I’m saying is: your definition of non-binary is sexist and it’s weird that your response is “but I have nb friends”
No, no, there's an important difference. Non binary means not identyfing within the binarism of male/female. Transcending it, breaking it, etc. It means identifying beyond male or female, as one of many options. Could be agender (no gender), gender-fluid (flows from one to another gender or something in the middle in different moments of life or days), bigender (ifentifies as both), gender-queer (basically someone who defies gender stereotypes and rules, including binarism). There's a Spanish person who wears beard and lipstick and DOES NOT identify as a trans woman. I don't remember what do they identify as, tbh, but I think it's probably gender-queer. Like saying why can't a man wear lipstick and "women" clothes? Trans can identify within binarism (as male or female) or out of it (as a non-binary trans). I hope this helped a little.
