For me, one of the most significant holiday memories is from Christmas of the year 2013. This particular holiday stands out not just because of the presents or the festive lights, but because it was the last Christmas we spent together with my dad. My dad used to work far from home and he only comes for Christmas. It was always so exciting and the best holiday of my life. I remember being so happy with the small amount of money my dad would give us. The food, the fireworks, the mood, the emotions, everything seemed so wonderful. It was filled with warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness that I will always cherish. That Christmas was more than just a holiday; it was a reminder of the importance of family, love, and creating memories together. Each holiday season, I look back on that special day, and it serves as a beacon of joy and togetherness that I strive to recreate in my own life. ā¤ļøāļø
My favourite memory would probably have to be christmas last year. It was the first time I got to spend Christmas with my partner and her family, itās my favourite memory bc I got to help and learn to make tamales, watching those I love receive gifts that they wanted, participate in traditions that Iām not used to. Growing up i didnt celebrate christmas much with family, so this is a memorable holiday moment for me that will stay foreverš«¶š½
My favorite memory would probably have to be Christmas of 2021 because it zi had so much fun seeing Christmas lights, opening presents and watching Christmas movies with my family!!
One personal Christmas memory I have is from when I was a child. Our family would gather at my grandparents' house, where the scent of freshly baked cookies filled the air. There was always a beautifully decorated tree in the living room, with twinkling lights and ornaments that had been collected over the years. On Christmas Eve, we would have a special dinner together, sharing stories and laughter. After dinner, weād gather around to sing carols and read āTwas the Night Before Christmas. Finally, we would settle down for the night, excited for what Christmas morning would bring. Waking up to the sound of wrapping paper being torn and the joyful shrieks of my siblings was always a thrill. Weād rush to the living room to see what Santa had brought, surrounded by a pile of gifts. It was a time of love, togetherness, and magic that I always look back on fondly.
My Favorite holiday memory is when I met the legendary Mariah Carey when she performed in Times Square on New Yearās Eve in 2016. My dad worked backstage and brought me along because I was interning for light designer and I was shadowing a light supervisor and he had to speak to the diva herself I was in awe n shocked she looked so good in person I asked for a hug and for her to do her high note she was very sweet but no pics were allowed cuz she didnāt want her look spoiled before the show. It was an amazing holiday even though the audio team got scolded at!š¤£
Well, my favorite holiday memory was when I was a kid. My mom pretended she didn't have any money in her wallet, so at first my big brother and I were sad, thinking we'd have no presents from my mom. (Ik ungrateful) Then, when we got up in the morning, and saw a bunch of presents under the tree, we ofc shrieked in happiness and I yelled, "Santa came!!" And my brother and family had a great Christmas, yet when I thought back on that later in life, is realized that my mom lied and that she was always "Santa".But it was still fun, and I love my mom for at least keeping up with it for so long.
Lunar new year. Every year during Elementary school, my mom would come in and teach the kids about Lunar New Year. Weād bring in the snacks and a lion head. Weād watch a video too. One of the years a teacher made a lion/dragon costume out of boxes. At the end of the day, weād line the halls with bubble wrap, and my class and one or two others would march down the hall, stepping on bubble wrap to simulate fire crackers. Weād eventually lead outside where weād loop around the track. It was always one of the favorite days when I knew it was coming up.
For me it was just having my family come over and spend the day laughing and having a good time. My grandma would hide little gifts around the house for us to find and it would be funny to find it and someone else realizing they completely missed it. And us wondering how she hid it without any of us noticing to begin with.
Ive never responded before, so i sure hope I am responding properly. my favorite holiday is christmas. I love the snow and lights and spending time with my family. I love making my nerd-trees because i love sci-fi. The one time of year i can really nerd out!
My favorite holiday is Christmas because I enjoy hearing Christmas songs. I especially love hearing them while shopping in malls. It's a reminder that it's that special time of year to reflect on the goodness of everyone, especially God.
My favorite holiday is when Christmas is near, and itās time for Simbang Gabi, a Filipino tradition of attending nine days of early morning masses. Waking up at 4:00 AM to go to church is tough, especially when itās still dark and cold, but thereās something special about it. The church is filled with people, all excited and ready for Christmas. I love the quiet, peaceful atmosphere, and the feeling of togetherness that fills the air. After the mass, my family always stops by the street vendors outside the church to buy puto bumbong (steamed purple rice cake) and bibingka (rice cake). The smell is so inviting, and thereās nothing like enjoying these warm treats together while talking and laughing. We sip hot tsokolate (Filipino hot chocolate) and enjoy the moment before heading home. Completing all nine masses is said to make your wish come true, so thereās a sense of excitement and hope that adds to the magic of the season. For me, Simbang Gabi is the perfect way to prepare for Christmas. Itās a time to reflect, to be with family, and to feel the Christmas spirit fill the air. Thatās why this holiday tradition is my absolute favorite.
One of my favorite holiday memories was from last yearās Eid celebration. My family gathered at my grandparentsā house, and we had a big feast together. Everyone was laughing, sharing stories, and playing games. Iāll never forget how warm and joyful it felt, surrounded by loved ones. It reminded me of how important family traditions are to me, and Iām already looking forward to next yearās celebration!
My favorite holiday memory is when my uncle came to town from Houston lugging a GIGANTIC bean bag chair with him as our christmas present. As a 8 year old at the time, I thought it was the size of a pool and cost a million dollars, so I must've been rich! The thing had to have been 100 pounds, 10 feet wide, and easily fit me, my sister, and 4 other cousins side by side. We jumped from couch to beanbag to chair and back, energy coming only from a mass amount of sugar (in the form of candy cane bark and sugar cookies) and excitement for not having to go to school.
My favorite holiday is thanksgiving, me and my family normally get a whole bunch of frozen dinners and make it all into a meal and canned food i didnt really care for the food cause that what didnt matter it was all of us coming together to make some weird concoction for all of us to enjoy. Especially my little brother who made hot coco wit the dried hershey mix and we all made the marshmallow from scratch i really do miss thoughs momments but i thought they would come to a end when my father got a promotion and the joy would cease. Many people love thanksgiving and all talk about the food but its not about the food its family coming together to share what they have or learned the colony in Williamsburg which i reside were gonna cease due to the winter and not having as much food but the native Americans came and shared everyone shared not only that they built a bond š which didnt last but beside the point i love thanksgiving because it bring my family together in one area in one setting to share our thoughts, love, stories, and dreams and hope i want to pass that down to my children no fancy thanksgiving to flash on social media just something simple that they can remember and appreciate
Skiing with my boyfriendās family had been a tradition for us since I was a young child. One of my favorite memories is walking into the living room at 3 am and seeing my then best friend (now boyfriend) try and cook ramen noodles in a microwave with no water because there was no other food yet. He said he was up late waiting for Santa to come with presents. (We were 6 and one of our dadās would dress up as Santa and leave presents under the tree while we were sleeping so we would stay up and wait to catch a peek) I still laugh at him to this day when he makes ramen noodles.
My favorite holiday memory would have to be going to my grandparents houses, they lived close enough for us to go to both homes in one day. I remember at my one grandparents home where i had a bigger family on that side, my cousin would eat the whipped cream off the pies when no one was looking and talk me into shaking boxes to see what was inside. There it was hectic, loud, messy and wonderful. After dinner we would go out and sled down the front yard almost going down the embankment everytime, so life or death situation there lol! Its hard to express these memories yet alone remember them, so many people are gone now, hopefully i explained it enough.
Favorite Holiday Memory It all starts on thanksgiving, my step dadās favorite holiday. I decided to start a tradition for Christmas. At Thanksgiving dinner we would draw names from different countries. Whatever you drew, youād make a dish or dessert to bring for Christmas dinner. Each year we pulled different countries and always had a completely different meal. We all had fun learning new dishes and about other cultures. We're unable to continue this currently but I will always remember the few years we were able to. The different dishes, the laughter in the kitchen. My tio forgetting what dish he āmadeā cause my Tia made his for him. It helped us become closer and broaden our minds. Memories I will cherish always.
A favorite holiday moment would be Christmas when I was a kid.. one particular one my mom, gram and aunties got together and transformed a bookcase into a Barbie house for my sister and I with multiple room cubbies.. I could tell they had so much fun making it and it really bonded them and my sis and I had a lot of fun with it for many years too.. now that Iām older I would totally love to make one for younger girls in my family to play with
My favorite memory is from Christmas. My grandpa when I was 14 decided to have his grandchildren sit around the Christmas tree while our favorite Christmas movie would play on our tv ,he would come out dressed like Santa and tell us about his Christmas memories and traditions as he passed out our presents .That same day we would go out and spend the entire day with him.By the end of the night he would drive us around the entire town letting us see all the Christmas lights as we listen to our favorite Christmas tunes. When we got home after all of that and the little kids went to sleep it was me and him staying up drinking hot coco just chatting away ,this memory holds a very special place in my heart because itās now 2024 and to go back and time to redo it all over again would be a dream come true because my grandpa is no longer with me.Out of everything we did that day ,being with him and soaking up all the laughs and fun memories I will cherish for the rest of my life ,every Christmas after that I remember that memory like it happened just yesterday..š„ŗšā¤ļø
