  1. I guess this wouldnā€™t be a favorite memory, but when I was a kid my grandfather pasted on Christmas Eve around 9pm, obviously making that Christmas one of the worst, however every Christmas is not only one of my favorite holidays, but a reason to celebrate my grandfather and how wonderful of a person he was, he was the guy that played the mall Santa for the kids and always made extra food for any of the neighbors who might not have family, so every Christmas is a great one because it gives me a chance to remember my grandfather

  2. Holiday Memory: The Great Cranberry Fiasco

Ah, the holidays. A time for family, friends, andā€”unfortunatelyā€”cranberries. Let me tell you about *that* holiday. It started innocently enough. I waddled into the kitchen, tail feathers high, thinking I was just going to nibble on some crumbs, maybe sneak a few leftovers. But no. My human had prepared something *special*ā€”a big bowl of cranberry sauce. They left it on the counter, just out of my reach, clearly *tempting* me.

Now, Iā€™m a Goose of dignity. I donā€™t just go around snatching food. But cranberries? Theyā€™re like little red jewels. And let me tell you, a Goose is no saint when it comes to jewels. So, I did what any self-respecting Goose would do: I flapped dramatically, made a few well-placed honks to distract the humans, and swooped in for my prize.

But then it all went sideways.

I misjudged the angle of attack. Instead of gracefully landing on the counter to savor the cranberry goodness, I somehow managed to knock over the bowl. It flipped, spiraling in the air like some sort of holiday decoration gone rogue, spraying cranberries in every direction. It was like a scene from a disaster movieā€”only with more *squawking*.

The humans rushed in, horrified. I, of course, tried to play it cool. I honked. I looked at the mess. And then I looked at them like, ā€œWhat? I was just here to help.ā€ But the damage was done. They spent hours cleaning up cranberry juice stains, and I spent the next week listening to them mutter, ā€œNever trust a Goose near the food.ā€

So, lesson learned: cranberries are a *trap*, and humans never appreciate the true artistry of a perfectly executed heist. But hey, at least I got a bite or two before the chaos ensued. 10/10 would do it again.

  3. My favorite holiday memory is my mom. Yes I know it sounds cheesy, but every time I think of a great Halloween or Christmas memory it always has my mom in it. I loved making thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with her, putting up Halloween/Christmas decorations, watching our favorite Christmas movies like National Lampoonā€™s Christmas Vacation and The Family Man, waking up on Christmas morning to the smell of her cooking breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls, etc. She always found a way to make the holidays special growing up. I couldnā€™t decide on just one holiday memory because I cherish and love them all. šŸ’—

  4. My favorite holiday memory is from when I was very young. I remember that year had a lot of blizzards and snowstorms, so I was always running outside and making snow mountains and turning them into not-quite-melted melted snowmen. On that Christmas, my family all took me outside and made cute snowmen (that never looked like what other snowmen looked like) with faces made up of stuff I would usually never have access to (like scarves that would be left outside, shovels, party hats and horns, and even a Scream mask) and we made a cute line of semi-snowmen. I always look back and I think about how it was the first time I had seen distant relatives and they still took the time to make tiny me happy :)

  5. šŸŽ„ My favorite holiday memory šŸŽ„

For me mine would have to be Christmas 10 years ago. That year was the last year we got to spend with my grandfather before he had passed away. And it was the best Christmas for me and my mom. We learned his favorite pastry recipe and he taught me and my mom how to make it so we can keep the tradition going every year after he passed away. Now every year we always make huge batches so everyone in the family can have a little piece of his memory each year. It was such an amazing day with such a blessed experience to learn from him.

  6. My favourite holiday is Chinese New Year! It's actually tiring for the most part since I have to travel between two states to visit different sides of the extended family. At the same time, that also means that I get to visit different places outside of my normal day-to-day, and it really breaks up the monotony of it all! It's also great to meet all the relatives that I don't think I'll be able to meet on a regular basis otherwise.

  7. It was Christmas Eve, and I had the most *brilliant* idea for a holiday game: Ferrero Rocher Roulette. The rules were simple. Iā€™d laid out a tray of Ferrero Rochers, but with a twistā€”one of them had a Brussel sprout hidden inside. The challenge? Bite into whichever one you pick, and hope itā€™s not the sprout.

I was feeling lucky. So, I dove in and grabbed the first one. I unwrapped it carefully, savoring the suspense. I took a bite... and YES! A glorious Ferrero Rocher. Pure chocolate heaven. I shot a glance at my friend, who was already looking at me like she knew Iā€™d just won the lottery.

Next, it was her turn. She grabbed one and took a bite... her face instantly fell. She paused, looked at me with wide eyes, and I could see the realization dawning. **She got the sprout.**

The look on her face was priceless. She tried to smile, but it was clear she was chewing through the horror of bitter betrayal. "What... what is this?" she asked, spitting it out dramatically. I couldnā€™t stop laughing. I had secretly replaced *two* of the chocolates with sprouts.

We continued the game, but I swear, by the end of the night, I had become some sort of Brussels sprout psychic. Every time I reached for a piece, I *just knew* which one was the sprout. It was like I had unlocked some kind of ā€œsprout radarā€ that was 100% on point. She, however, kept failing. Every time she bit into one, I would break into laughter, and she'd give me the dirtiest look.

By the end of the evening, the tray was half-empty and we were both in a chocolate-and-sprout-induced food coma. But honestly? I had the best time, and Iā€™ll never look at Ferrero Rocher the same way againā€”especially if Iā€™m the one picking.

  8. My favorite Holiday would be March 22, 2015. It was declared as a holiday in my city to celebrate the Philippinesā€™ first president birthday. Itā€™s my favorite because on that day I was able to attend my first ever concert. It was One Directionā€™s concert (On The Road Again Tour) I remember lining up from 5am til 6pm to get inside the venue. I met a few online friends for the first time and most specially I was able to listen to my baby boys for the first timešŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ» It was such a memorable experience. One of the concert event that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I was lucky to be there and hear 4/5 of the boys live. It was so fun, I was singing, dancing and even crying. I lost my phone and the hard drive where I saved the videos and photos got corrupted but I will never forget the memories I had that day. It was one of my ā€œyeah, I was there/I did it momentā€ as a fangirl. And I will surely tell my future kids or grandkids about that experience šŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ» Thats all. Thank you for this event and happy Holidays to everyone.

    making them wd Family "

So every holiday I spend with family are best .

  11. My favorite Holiday memory was Christmas, back when I was a child I always get 1 gift for my birthday and Christmas gift since my birthday was December 21st very near to Christmas right? That's there reason, so I got jealous cause when my relatives who only goes for Christmas to our house gives my sibling 2 gifts, one for there birthday and one for Christmas. When my Grandfather visits, he's the only one brings me two gifts. That's why it's memorable to me, he treats me equally even my birthday is near to Christmas. When he died no one gives me 2 gifts anymore and prayed to meet someone like my grandfather then there I met my husband who gifts me 2 gifts as well even he didn't know about what my grandpa does on Christmas/my birthday.

  12. My favourite holiday memory would be the first Christmas gathering that I can remember. I was still a young child Nearl still in my single digits. I recall that I was so excited when I hear that there was going to be an activity of exchanging of gifts among my peers. My parents took me out to the nearby bookstore and toy stores to help me pick out a gift for the exchange. I remember picking some pencils and colouring mediums along with a wrapping paper and a box. Recalling the moment where I struggle to wrap the gift with my parents brings a smile to my face. The actual activity was fun. We played musical chairs and the winner get to pick a gift from the pile first.

While I do hope that I get to do something that innocent again, Christmas now is fun too, a simple meal with the family is all I need.

  13. One of the best holiday memories I can imagine is the experience of waking up on Christmas morning as a child, the excitement in the air palpable. The house is quiet at first, then you hear the rustle of wrapping paper and soft footsteps as everyone gathers in the living room. The Christmas tree, twinkling with lights and adorned with ornaments, stands tall and proud in the corner. The smell of cinnamon and fresh pine fills the room, while hot cocoa sits on the table, steam rising in the chilly air.

The joy of seeing gifts under the tree, but more than that, the feeling of warmth and belonging, the love shared between family members, and the laughter that echoes through the house as everyone opens presents, one by one. Itā€™s that perfect blend of magic, togetherness, and nostalgia, when everything seems right in the world, and you wish time could stand still just a little longer.

Even as years go by, that feeling of pure joy and connection ,remains one of the most cherished memories, forever tied to the spirit of the holidays.

  14. My favorite holiday of the year would've been Christmas of 2021šŸŽ„. Christmas Day is also my mom's birthdayšŸ„³! But this was the time my two grand aunts from Philly came down to visit for the first time. I had only seen them once in person when I was a child like 2-3. They came and my aunt and her kids come down as well. My grandmother hadn't seen her sisters from they moved countries over 50 years ago. It was so nice to see the excitement and joy on her face because she always brags about them every timešŸ„°!

But they didn't come empty handed- they had gifts for everyone! On Christmas Day, it was literally like a Christmas out of a movie, everyone'a in the kitchen doing something. Me and one of my grand aunts were baking gingerbread cookies and pieces for a gingerbread house, my mom and my grand mother were putting up the last set of decorations and everyone else except the kids (me excluded) were preparing to eat that Christmas feast! The kids were playing with their new toys or getting ready. At the table was nothing but stories, laughter and tears from laughing too hard, I didn't know my aunts were THAT mischievous šŸ¤£šŸ˜. Listen a time was had and you know there were a few drinks involved! (no one drank irresponsiblyāœ‹šŸ½) but it was just the best family gathering ever!

It was also the last Christmas one of my grandmother hadn't seen aunt had before passing so I was glad to have that as the last memory and experience with herā¤ļø. I finally got to see them as an adult and actually enjoy their company outside of texting and video callingšŸ„²

She totally rocked (along with her sister and my grandmother).

  15. My favorite holiday memory is pretty easy and simple. It was when the Wii was out, and I had begged my parents for one all year. I remember that Christmas we had opened all of our gifts, and no Wii. I had one more box, which was just in one of those old white clothes boxes if you guys remember those. So I knew it was just going to be a shirt or jeans. I open it up, and wrapped in the jeans was a Wii game. I was super confused at first, and then my dad came out and pulled the Wii box from behind the closet door. We played Wii sports like all day, it was a blast.

  16. Christmas has always been a special holiday for me, and one of my fondest memories is from my childhood. Every year on Christmas evening, my siblings and I would enjoy hot cocoa and cookies together, followed by a visit to the annual masquerade show in our community.
The event was always a highlight of the season, with its vibrant masks, lively music, and joyful atmosphere. I feel grateful to have shared these happy Christmas memories with my siblings, and I treasure them to this day
Thank you mods, for making us recall all these beautiful holiday memories.šŸ’–

  17. One of my favorite holidays was this summer for the fourth of July. I got to go to Los Vegas, NV for the first time and see my grandmother who I haven't seen since I was really young. I also got to see some other extended family some that I have met and some I have never met before in my life lol. But over all it was a really nice week with all of them kinda hope to do it again next year.

  18. My favorite holiday memory was from my grandpa. I got a pet hamster for Christmas as a child and we didnā€™t know it was pregnant. The hamster had babies and they all got loose one day and he locked himself in his room due to his fear of rodents, but at least 3 of them ended up there in the room with him. I saved the day and put them back in the cage!

  19. I'd say it wasn't my favorite memory but it was defently memorable. Last Thanksgiving i had just finish setriods for a UTI three days proir. On Thnanks giving i was at my parents house and i walk down the stairs and told my mom my cheeks were redish pink. Then she looked at my neck then my stomach and i had hives all over my body. My dad took me to urgrent care since i was in too much pain to drive. We were there for hours and it turns out i was allregic to slufa drugs. It was the only Thanksgiving i was allowed to not sit with my family.

  20. iā€™d probably have to say my favourite holiday memory probably has to be the year the Xbox360 was released/sold. Iā€™ll never forget that christmas when I opened my last gift from under the tree and while opening it I looked up and my dad was tearing up, not knowing it was the one thing I had asked for since release, a xbox360. when I say I jumped for joy, I mean I literally hit my head on our chandelier and sprinted to my parents with tears of happiness flowing. not only my reaction, but seeing my dad smile because he got the one gift i wanted so badly was so heart-warming
