Can someone explain to a confused foreigner how Romney got more votes and Obama won? That seems a little bit odd
The electoral college is the explanation of why a popular voted candidate wouldn't win the election. It'd be too hard to explain the system here, google it. Obama is 2.5 million ahead in the popular vote anyways. Romney lead for most of the night, but the west (predominately democratic) is being/has been counted.
I believe President Obama won the popular vote also. Florida was too close to call. Obama had 50% & Mittens had 49%. There's nothing you can do ,so deal with it. Mittens couldn't even win his hometown CTFU. My President is Black
It's funny how when he first ran for presidency he was a "mixed" candidate but once he won, he's black.
Lol Obama got most of the Youth to vote for him because he promised lower College funds. Did that happen? Nopethat's what ya get for siding w/ a fucking liberal.
For all of you who are confused, each state submits votes, people in the electoral college then look at the state and send in their votes on whoever got more, based on population, some states have more electoral college voters. California for instance has 55, the biggest, Obama won over most of the high populated states while Romney just got a bunch of little ones, so you can get more popular votes but you need the electoral College votes. hope that helps
All I can say is that looking from the outside the Americans should be glad Obama won... Obviously some people will disagree... But from where I see its a good thing...
Wow monazita. That is depressing how you see it as a good thing. If you were right in front of me I'd be yelling at you about all Obama's even done in the last four years.
You know what, Romney's thinking seemed far more dangerous for the 90%, so I'm happy he will not destroy my family as well as many other families that are struggling. I'm glad I will still be able to afford college next semestee and I'm glad that in case some idiot driver hits me that I have health care.
My point exactly Dan... I'm not American nor do I live in America... That is why I can see things in a different way... Nobody likes changes... Obama made a few... In the long run people will see they are good changes, even if right now they might seem absurd to some people... Everyone has the right to their opinion... But looking at things from the outside Obama was the better choice... The Obama care was the best thing that could have happened to America... There's flaws... Like in any health care system... But at least now everyone has the right to be treated... It is one of the humans rights... For those who think that you shouldn't pay for a lazy bum to get treated... Just remember that one day you or someone in your family might be in the same situation and you'd like them to be treated... On a side note... I've seen a lot of Americans using the words liberal as an insult... In case you don't know what it means... It mean free... For the so called land of the free to use that as an insult is very ironical...
I was kinda disgusted by a quote I heard by Romney, someone said it came from one of the debates: they were talking about education and federal aid for students going to college and when Romney said he would decrease it he was asked where else would the students get the money, " Ask your parents" response was what I heard.... really? really? ... Sorry Romney, not all students have a rich mommy and daddy to help us pay for college. Maybe why we need financial aid in the first place.
Most students don't have rich parents... You can't say the country is in crisis, that people don't have money all that because of Obama, and right after say "ask your parents for money" they don't have it remember?????
The right to be treated?? You do understand that this "right" is something I have to pay for, don't you? Something I have no choice in paying for. So now this "right to be treated" is gonna cost money out of MY pocket. So much for land of the free when I don't even have an option to decline something that will cost me money. And as far as having your college paid for.... Lets see how good that degree is when you can't find a job to use it for. And I'm sick and damn tired of all this "My president is black" or "hooray for a black man as president" crap. Am I the only one that remembers he's only HALF BLACK?? So I guess the white side has no meaning whatsoever? People are so freaking stupid. Why the hell should him being black or white or purple even have anything to do with anything in this day and age?? It's crap like that that keeps racism alive, by continually segregating ourselves and throwing labels on each other even if it's supposed to be in a positive light. Candidate politics aside, I'm sickened and disgusted that I live in a country where people vote based on race and not the candidates political agendas or policies. Cause we all know that if Obama was a 100% white dude, he would not be where he is today.
