Cody's point of view As we were driving home, I kept thinking about how I was going to tell her. We had an amazing day today, and it was almost 10pm. We got up to her house, and I knew it had to be now. "Taylor..." I trailed off. "Yes?" she asked. "There's no easy way to say this..." I said sadly. "I-I'm moving to France." "What!?" she shouted. "When!?" "I'm sorry," I said, warm tears running down my cheek. "I've known for a couple weeks, but I just couldn't tell you." "Cody, when are you moving?" she asked, crying. "Tomorrow," I said sadly. We just sat in silence in my car for a few minutes. "Well, I guess this is goodbye," she said sadly. "I guess it is," I said. Tears were welling up in my eyes. I pulled her close to me, and she laid her head on my chest. She held her head up and looked me in the eyes. I laid my lips on hers, knowing it would be the last kiss.
Alex's point of view "I'm really going to miss you," I said, with tears running down my cheeks. "I'm so sorry, Alex," said Cody. "I should've told you-" "Yeah, you should have," I cut him off angrily. "Goodbye, Cody." I angrily got out of the car and went inside my house. I didn't care that he was moving anymore. He kept a huge secret from me, and I just can't forgive him for that. I took out my phone and went to my contacts. Once I got to the L's, I stopped. There was Cody Long's contact. My ex-boyfriend. The one who's moving tomorrow. The big, red 'Delete' button was staring right at me. I pressed it without hesitation. Cody's point of view She just left the car! How could she be angry with me ? i was just trying to protect her. Nothing is wrong with that. If she's mad at me, then I'm mad at her! I took out my phone and went to Alex Hunter. "Sorry, Alex," I said aloud to myself. "It's no use keeping it, anyway." With that, I pressed the delete button. Now I know I'll never talk to her again.
5 YEARS LATER... Alex's point of view I was alone. My parents were gone. My sister went on her own. No one was left. I'm 22 now, so I just finished college. I walked into the bar, needing something to take my mind off of everything. I sat down on a bar stool. "Would you like anything?" said a young bartender, around my age. "Yeah, I'll just have a Bud Light," I said. "Dang," he said as he was getting it. "You must be really trying to get over something." "How did you guess?" I laughed. "I don't really know," he said. "Your laugh...it sounds so familiar." "How so?" I said. "Just...something about it..." he trailed off. "No...it couldn't be. Alex?" "How do you know me?" I asked. "It's me!" said the bartender, handing me my drink. "Cody!" "Cody!?" I shouted in disbelief. "Oh my gosh, Alex," he said. "It's so great to see you."
