no one requires food substitutes tho. Why is that an argument. And an eating disorder isn't rly a reason, I've struggled with anorexia, so. And no one imposed anything on anyone, I am just stating facts.
Most of the produce here grows here. We get some American stuff, too. That's a seperate issue, but something that should be dealt with yah. It's definitely multi-faceted
There wouldn't be any extra land stripping tho since we already have all the veg and fruit we need. Also you're a monster k ty
Ok but you would have to do strip farming? Meat, milk, eggs, cheese, etc are all HUGE parts of what’s in people’s fridges. If everyone were vegan, you’d have to produce more almond/coconut/soy/pea milk, produce more soy cheeses, and provide enough fruits and vegetables that are protein based in order to successfully provide the nutrients human beings need.
What makes you think fake meat and cheese is necessary? Ppl only eat that shìt cuz they miss the foods they ate as an omnivore. No one needs to eat it. Beans and rice is completely fine and way healthier.
Soy milk is already a thing? Also, eggs is used for baking. They’re now going to need substitutes to make the baked goods. Milk is used for cereal and a number of other things, and although there’s already a large number of soy/coconut/almod/etc mills they’re now going to need to provide more based off of the fact that people are still going to need milk. Cheese is used for pizza and another of other dishes, so you expect people to just not eat it? Lmfao you’d be erasing a vast majority of what people already eat
again, having to use more land is not always necessary for humane treatment. people tend to overeat meat anyway, so if meat was more expensive, consumed less, and produced ethically, it shouldn’t be a problem. the same goes for milk and cheese. and technically, dairy and cheese, while delicious, aren’t even GOOD for you in the amounts most people eat them in. corporations, i believe, can definitely find solutions to the issues that come up of more water/feed/room/etc. they just don’t want to and thus feed out the “but it would be MORE problematic to be ethical and humane “
a lot of corporations like to engage in animal torture because it supposedly makes the meat taste better and more tender which... is disgusting
Um. Ya. A lot of vegans (and italians for that matter) don't use cheese on pizza. Cereal is junk food and for kids. Apple sauce is a good replacement for eggs in baking. Idk why you think you have real reasons.
to add onto baking issues—there are already alternatives for eggs in baking. they’re commonly and healthily used in a lot of dog cookies and treats (i work in a pet store and we sell a lot of them, and i unlike many people, give a damn what i’m selling people). just add in the sugar and salt and whatever to humans’ tastes and voila.
also! i don’t believe anyone should HAVE to be vegan or vegetarian. it’s a choice you make. i do believe that choices should be ethically and consciously based though. :/ and that corporations should be held accountable, whether they’re producing meat at animals’ expense, grains at humans’, or literally anything at the evironment’s.
I'm just a cruel person who likes my meats and doesn't particularly care about Earth or the animals. Sorry Mother Nature. '-'
