I hate lab reports this entire page is part 5 of a 5 part question and the formula at the top was the result of a partial derivative I took (not going to show work for how I took the partial derivative) so it's not necessarily the right formula and if any of the data from any of the previous parts of the question is wrong then it's also wrong

They all in multiplication . Eg: (1 p x).(1 p x p x^2) = (1 p 2x p 2x^2 p x^3), so x^100 will not be the highest exponent of x after multiplication
Ok so then the highest power is x^100! X to the 100 factorial power Subtract 5000 or whatever it was from that will not give you an integer from 0 to 9 though. Why would a question ask you to subtract 5000 something from a power anyway
Wait the highest power is x^0 1 2 3 4 5 6...100 Add all of those exponents together then subtract 5000 or whatever it was
Ok here is explanation. Since the plus sign doesn't work, wherever you see 'p' I mean plus. (1px)(1pxpx^2)(1pxpx^2px^3)(..px^100) What you want is the single highest power. If you were to solve the whole thing, you would multiply them all together and you would get over 100 (or more) different powers for the exponents. We only care about the single highest so what we see is: x*x^2*x^3*x^4....*x^100 Which simplifies to: x^1p2p3p4....p100 Then we only care about the exponent. All you have to do is add up every number together from 1 to 100 and that equals 5050. Then subtract from 5045 and your answer is 5.
I think it would be easier to put the sign and just let the space represent plus. P makes it look like an additional variable :/ just my thoughts
Ok good. I actually want to tell you guys about a very important online calculator now. It's lengthy but important points are in bold. There is an online website known as wolfram alpha, you can find it by typing it into google. This is an online calculator used to assist students and professional people in understanding their work. It can be used in math/physics/chemistry and many other subjects. No body in my high school used it but as soon as I entered college I learned about it the first day I attended tutoring. All of my friends and teachers know about and use it. I have became friends with many people in my math class as well as some phd students and other grad students and they all know about and use wolfram. It is free.[b/] For math it can graph your function, tell you the zeroes of a function, tell you the derivative of a function, tell you the integral of a function, tell you the partial derivative, summations, inflection points and over 1000 times more. You can go to the website and click on examples->math and then select geometry, algebra, calculus or whatever you want and it will tell you what it can do and how to enter it. The intelligence of this site is amazing. You dont really have to spend any time figuring out how to enter a question. It always knows what I'm asking when I simply put in a question. Here's an example of something you can enter integral from 3 to 7 of y=x^3 2x and it will tell you the answer and what it looks like so you can see it. You don't even have to enter anything even close to that. It should still be able to figure out your question and answer it even if it's in a different syntax. It is great and easy to use! Trust me that it's easy to use even though it looks like it would be hard to enter the syntax right. Here's an example of what I used to save time solving the previous user's question.
