Congratulations! Deciding to change your lifestyle is the first and the biggest step! It takes a strong person! You can do it! (Ignore the haters, anyone hating on you for making healthy choices is just projecting their disgust at their own life choices on you!) You got this dude!
Everybody is different, do what works for you. The only advice I am qualified to give you is to seek a personal nutritionist, and a personal trainer to help you meet your goals. Please do not take advice from people that merely know someone that is a nutritionist or personal trainer and did their own research.?. Even though I played a full contact sport for years and have had to cut and gain weight repeatedly, I still wouldn’t give you advice I am not qualified to give on something that can affect your health dramatically. Seek the help of someone whose livelihood is based on the success of their clients results, meet with them face to face, and come up with a plan together. Good luck.
A lot of people usually become obsessed with calories and end up developing an unhealthy relationship with food. This is great for weight loss, yes, but detrimental to a person’s overall health. So I would agree that calories are irrelevant. It’s all about macros bro.
Calories in calories out isn't really accurate tho. Companies are allowed to lie about calories within 20 percent of the actual number. And the way calories are determined is not the same way it's used in the body. It's better to focus on the quality of food
Also people burn and store fat differently. So if there was the was two people: the same age size and height. If they was both set to eat 1500 cal per say. Person A has a higher metabolism, so they will burn fat easy and see quick results, whereas the other person may have a low metabolism so they may see little to none results. So calorie goal diets are rocky.
Just eat some healthy food until you're full and do some bun-shaking, day in-day out. That's how to get fit. and keep the bun-shaking fast, brief, and rigorous. Wanna do that stuff in bursts
I only drank water and green tea for 3 months, cut back my rice intake (which has a lot of carbs) and focused more on eating protein or fats. Went from 164 to 130, this was with minimal exercise. (Though you'll probably get better results with exercise.) Just start your diet gradually and don't surprise your body with sudden changes. Also don't think of it as a short-term diet, it's better in the long run if you make it a lifestyle. Don't starve yourself, but don't overeat either. Drink a lot of water, but not too much because water intoxication is a thing. I started at around 180 lbs too, but the 180 to 160 was a lot slower, I only cut back a lot of junk food, took around a year for me to reach 160. Also you lose weight easier at the beginning, don't get discouraged if your progress gets slower. I'm actually at my plateau right now. Good luck!
