You are not writers of FF if you do not value opinions or the other author's mere existence. That's what separates us from idiocy and civilization. My dear, half of us have already kicked the can. Fletch, I agree. Most of it is based on fandom, but when it gets our of hand as the plot shapes into 'ROMEO, LET'S DEPART ON MY BEAUTIFUL BLACK STALLION NAMED BLACK BEAUTY', it makes the original artist's work seem... bamfed. It's degenerating. Once there was even an MLP roleplay, and know what happened? Two people playing the role of Pinky Pie's parents made out against a counter. That's what I mean by utterly pathetic. Then they claim it as their own idea. That pisses me off. I hate noobs who hate and can't defend themselves, but really? Art theft. Those baffoons disgust me with your deluded thoughts of being a true artist. The mere ego they posess... God. The words they spew asn they continue to be a poser are degrading, and you fail at trying to sound intelligent whilst you're actually just an iliterate fool with no sense of righteousness. My rant is finished. These degrading RPs disgust me. Turning an innocent kid's show into this... this... I have no comment on how little respect I have for RPs anymore. GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!!! Sorry, I had to do that(it's about 1:00 here right now, but Ill make an SPN reference anyway) Anyway, prepare, because Otto is here to rant about everything once again. And this may be my longest rant ever. First of all, I am extremely against RP's. I was gone for about four or five months because I had my iPod stolen. I always thought life was good here in fanfiction. I came back in December, and was overwhelmed. My stories, which I knew would be pretty far buried(around 50 pages in my mind) I came back to find everything buried by over 100 pages!!! Over four months, it was so overwhelmed by RP's that it was double what I expected!!! And my expectations were pretty high in my mind. The turn out was much worse! After the initial bumping of my stories, I decided to enjoy some RP's. I even made two role play threads. But, after a while, I realized what they do. I would be gone for a day, come back, and find all my stories buried by about 3-4 pages of just RP's. They are way too numerous. It gets too annoying for the people who are actually writing a story. RP's are a way to converse. They belong in off topic, but flood fanfiction. Our PIMD community needs to be respectable. RP's(not all, but most) degrade the work of a famous author, or TV Show writer, or a mangaka, or any other examples you can think of. It can be insulting. I have a few works that have possibilities of being published, and I would be very upset if I found out that someone basically did that to my stories I would not be amused. Second of all, the title of this place is FAN FICTION. Nowhere does it say anything about Role Play. Most of the new RP ideas are very terrible. They just suck. How do you people not get bored with all this crap? It's just way too much. And it's not really your own work. Its your idea. If its popular, yes, you created it, but it's not actually your story. And yet you take credit for it. Third of all, I'm so FRIGGIN TIRED OF ALL THIS POPULARITY CRAP!!!! Why the hell should anyone give a fuck? It's not a fucking popularity contest! It's supposed to be a community where we are all equal. You shoot down the ideas of someone who isn't popular, but when a popular person says the same thing and everyone bows down to worship them. Why can't we go back to what it was like last June? Where everyone was friendly, and respected everyone PROPERLY. Why the hell does it matter that a person is cooler than another. Or talks more than another. Or is more friendly than another. All opinions matter, and should be listened to without bias. Now all that rant is just my opinion. You can choose to listen or not to listen.
Honestly agree with fletch royal and Otto. It's annoying to scroll through rp after rp after rp to find my story, MY STORY, which was dropped like two pages in a day. Also how is rp fun. Sure it's fun if your in it, but if your looming at it from the outside, it seems boring. I like it when there were more stories than rps. I mean one-three rps on the first page are fine, but when it's predominately rps, it's just annoying. I'm done Peace
I like to sometimes Rp when it is a good original topic, but all these new people are just annoying. They are clogging up FF and I hate it!
The one I dislike because of the title is the halo one. It was an awesome game series. DON'T RUIN IT. making it into a story is ok to a certain degree. But rp of it is something completely different. Unless you work for bungie or created the game, don't make an rp of it. It makes fans like me "upset"
