State laws are laws that aren't national laws usually. That would be why they exist even if a federal law beats a state law. I didn't say state laws altogether were illegal. I see that I worded it quite terribly, must've been in a rush, but yes a federal law beats a state law. So technically using medical marijuana even in a state where there's a state law allowing it is still illegal. Because marijuana is illegal as a federal law...
And I'm explaining to you that that's exactly what I meant... Using it where it's supposedly legal is still technically illegal.
Anyone else thinking of that family guy episode? You don't need pot, you don't need speed, everything's better with a bag of weed
If a state passes a law saying it's okay for medical marijuana then u can and it's fine until the Feds step in. Luckily under Obama he told dea to basically chill out and let states have the say on marijuana laws for the time being
Wow closed minded people.....ever watch your dad suffer from so much pain that he can't even see let alone stand.....or your aunt who had stomach cancer couldn't eat.....other many people that have so much pain they can't bare that makes them wish they were dead.....It should be completely legal
I guess what I meant is that it's legal for personal consumption here in my state. Not just medically. Anyone over the age of 21 can purchase marijuana. We just passed this law here and it goes into effect on December 6. A person over the age of 21 is allowed to carry up to one ounce of marijuana. There will be laws regarding driving while under the influence of marijuana, which can result in a DUI. But people are able to consume marijuana in their own homes legally, and purchase them at specified locations, as in some liquor stores, and some dispensaries, which have to apply for a license to legally sell marijuana.
Marijuana is a gateway drug. I've been an addict my entire teenage and adult life, to things far worse than pot, all because that little bud high eventually stopped suppressing my problems. "Addiction is a personal choice." Yada yada yada. That may be so, but I didn't have the control to choose my environment. The "medical" marijuana stuff is ridiculous - if you can't raise a spoon to your lips, you can't raise a spliff to your lips, either. Common sense. D'oh
I'm not saying I use marijuana. I used to be a drug addict. It took over my life. Now I'm 4 1/2 years sober off everything. I'm just stating facts on what is happening in my state.
I'm from the States, so I know what state you're in and referring to. I've been clean for a few days over four months now. It feels good to think more clearly and see the world in a new light. Stay up. Recovery's a lifelong journey, fer sher.
