A lot of atheists are really awful towards religiois people, to be honest. I haven't met one atheist that didn't put people down for being religious.
I used to identify as atheist but tbh I moved more to agnostic. I don't mind religious people and stuff like praying in public doesn't bother me. It doesn't hurt anyone by believing in a god or reincarnation or whatever. I did not like being associated with the aggressiveness a lot of atheists display. Plus I wasn't so deadset on, "There is no God! There's no Buddha! There's nothing!" and it was more like... personally I don't care and I would like to believe there is a higher being. Like idea of there being nothing is kind of... scary? I think a lot of atheists have had personal problems with religion ー usually Christianity and most often Roman Catholicism ー that they end up taking their frustrations out on others and attacking religion as a whole than maybe their personal critiques on Roman Catholicism or even their individual place of worship or their parents.
What would you call a person who himself doesn't believe in God but doesn't care or gives a damn if others do and minds his own business? I am exactly that.
Agnostic, tbh. That's what I identify as! Although I am more open to the idea of a higher power than you, I think? No, but really! I think that's how a lot at least starts ー rebelling against very religious parents.
A sad soul. God loves you, he's your father. Can you imagine how you'd feel if your child turned their back on you? Very sad
Have a problem with peeps who want you to adopt their ideology but can't accept people who have their own ideology? ahh the irony.
What? No, I don't believe in an eye for an eye. That isn't the principle underlying Jewish justice. When did I say that killing was okay? I surely didn't mean to say that. That's one of the 10 commandments, bruv. Thou shalt not kill. Literally one of the big 10.
I didn't wish death to anyone and am not okay with murder. I don't know how many times I need to say that because you don't seem to understand. I literally answered this point in another thread. At this stage I don't know why you're clinging to it.
@Negan balls @Noob the actions of the state of Israel are not representative of Judaism or of Jewish people. Where is the religious justification for every policy? There isn't one because the state gov. is secular. It is intended as a state for Jews rather than a state run by Judaism @Regarding anti-zionism as anti-semitism. It's literally in the speech... You clearly use it as an excuse as Lord Sacks says. I can hear the difference in your tone because you hold all Jews accountable for the state and question whether it has a right to exist and whether the Jewish people in Israel deserve self-determination. Anti-Semitism was a coin termed by a German who found the prevalent "Juden-hass" to be too garish and normal for educational circles, so wanted a more fancy word, so he replaced it with anti-semitism. It wasn't directed at other semites in its entire etymological history.
Because we use this dated and slightly imprecise word to describe hatred against jews, you can't be antisemitic? no.
The good news Jesus Christ Lord and Savior brought us. It'll fill your heart and soul with TRUE happiness if you allow it in.
actually not, but it is true that antisemitism" and specifically the hatred of Jews, can later lead to hatred of Muslims. Especially in Christian-Majority countries. As is attested to in this speech, and as is most prevalent in some Eastern European countries. We can be hated together but there is also a lot of hatred from Muslims towards Jews especially in the middle east where education is poorer.
