  1. You didn't know Muslims hate Jews?

  2. why @Vice :(

  3. I think contractions in English function like ligatures in Latin.

  4. wynaut

  5. What? I know they can. But not all do ー that isn't an inherent trait. Anti-Semitism is ingrained in a lot of cultures, Islamic ones included. But plenty of people from any culture where anti-Semitism is a problem are not anti-Semites themselves, Muslims included.

  6. My old neighbor from UAE told me all Muslims hate Jews. And I've never heard otherwise.

Isreal is America's greatest ally in the middle East, So I like the Jews.

Alternatively, America is a country founded on religious freedom. So if Muslims are taught to hate Jews, that's their right to believe what they are taught.

  7. I have many Muslim friends and none of them hate Jewish people. I didn't realize your old neighbor from UAE was a spokesperson for all 1.6 billion Muslims.

I'm not denying that anti-Semitism is a problem in Muslim communities ー I'm positive that with tensions in the Middle East, it is an issue. Anti-Semitism is an issue in many cultures. But it isn't right or even correct to blanket all Muslims together and say that they all hate Jewish people.

  8. It's not about current political events, there are much deeper historical reasons why they feel the way they do.

  9. That's why I said anti-Semitism is ingrained in cultures. I was just using Israel/Palestine as one example.

  10. Okay, then why condem Noob for his beliefs? You sound like you hate Muslims when you act like what they believe is a problem.

It's their beliefs, it's what they're taught. He's entitled to practice his religious beliefs, just as Kefo is, and just as I am.

World peace is just a meme, it's not a reality. There are certain groups of people whom will always feel betrayed by other groups of people.

I refuse to take sides in it. I've meet both fine Jews and fine Muslims. I've met terrible Jews and I've meet terrible Muslims. If they hate each other, so be it. Condeming one side or the other isn't going to change what either side believes, it will only strengthen the view they already hold.

  11. Not all Muslims are anti-Semites. Just because it is in your culture does not mean it is morally okay. Lots of cultures partake in cannibalism for religious reasons. I am not personally okay with that. Other cultures eat dog and cat. I'm personally not okay with that. Other cultures practice female genıtal mutilation. I'm not okay with that.

Anti-Semitism is very ingrained into my German heritage and culture, but I chose to unlearn anti-Semitism. Germany as a whole is trying to unlearn anti-Semitism.

I have no desire to change Noob's personal beliefs, but I have the right to dislike his anti-Semitism ー especially when he is harassing Kefo with anti-Semitic comments. That last part additionally breaks FCOC.

  12. @Julie

If hatred of another religion is a tenet of a religion, the religion should be revised or at least criticized for that.

There is religiously motivated antisemitism from both Christians and Muslims for natural, yet bad reasons.

As a Christian you would know that natural does not always mean good.

  13. So neither of you respect their right to believe as their religion teaches. Cool.

If you truly wanted to make a change, you'd do better to try an understand why they feel the way they do rather than simply condem them for it. That's no way to change anybody's mind.

  14. I'm saying that I don't believe Islam teaches anti-Semitism. ??‍♀️ Culture =/= religion. And it being your religion or culture does not protect it from criticism or suggestion for revision. Your culture or religion should not infringe upon the rights of other religions or cultures.

I tried communicating with Noob over it and explaining why his words were anti-Semitic. Someone even gave a history lesson the specifics of why allegations of bloodlust were anti-Semitic and where they came from. I understand why anti-Semitism happens, because, like I said, I have German heritage and my family is unlearning beliefs ingrained into our culture. I've done personal research on the conditions in pre-Nazı Germany that inflamed those cultural beliefs. When I tried to talk to Noob about it, he totally rebuffed my advances and was not open to unlearning his behavior. I can criticize him for that.

  15. It absolutely does teach that.

  16. I FLIPPING LOVE JEWS K BYE

  17. How do you know that the Quran says it? According to you, all you're going off of is the words of your old neighbor from the UAE.

  18. I looked it up, you should try.

And when you try to attack noob for beliefs that his religion teaches it will only reaffirm that what he believes is true.

This Sunday we talked about the Antichrist at church. Many will come along and promise a road to success that differs from God's teachings. These are tricks of the devil, there is no other way other than God's way to live a righteous life.

When you attack my beliefs, It reaffirms to me that my beliefs are correct. A truly religious person is not going to fall for tricks of the devil.
