  1. Chapter Two

First day of Sophomore year in a new school.

    Evergreen High.

I sighed as I took in the green environment. It looked like a fun place to be in. The atmosphere was clean, and bright. The surroundings were green and healthy. Everyone had a smile on their face, and most Freshmen were happy yet nervous to start their high school life.

Jade came up beside me and help my hand as an assurance that Evergreen High was going to be our escape from our reality.

Evergreen High was located a town next to where Jade and I originally lived. But the bus ride was just about thirty minutes tops. It was worth it though. Nothing looked dreadful. I could see acceptance just by the smiles on everyone's faces.

There were different races. Caucasians, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc., and everyone seemed to be friendly. I could even see some jocks hanging out with people that looked like nerds and hippies. No offence.

"Jade, am I dreaming?" I asked her, staring at her emerald eyes. Her thin lips formed a smirk, and then she shook her head saying no.

"We've found our fantasy school." She ran her fingers down her auburn long hair, and then smiled.

I nodded my head and took her hand tightly, while I dragged her towards the school. I was amazed really. We passed by different kinds of people greeting us a good morning. We finally felt like we fit in. It was an amazing feeling.

We entered the office and grabbed our timetable. We had most of our classes together, except for one period where she had Arts (painting, etc.) and I had Theatre Arts (drama, etc.). We both hurried off to our first class, so excited of what our class was going to be.

Our first period was AP English; and students rarely get into the programme, so all years are mixed. So from freshmen to seniors, we had one class together.

    Excited was an understatement.

    I loved English- especially literature.

I loved reading about works of Shakespeare, Austin, and all those amazing authors from the past.

"Wish us luck, Rhy." Jade kissed my cheek as we both opened the door in the same time.

I gulped and and pushed it all the way revealing six students currently in the classroom.

"Morning!" One African-American girl said. She had a beautiful ebony skin, and she was classy in terms of her outfit, and I could tell by her stance.

We greeted all of them with big smiles on our faces. And so Jade and I decided to sit down on the furthest back, since we still didn't want to stand out.

But on the way to the back, the door slammed open and I saw the most gorgeous girl and boy in the school. They obviously stood out just from their height, and their aura was screaming out leader.

The boy smirked and greeted the students that he obviously knew and the girl... she was staring at something. No... Not just something... But someone. I followed her gaze and it fell on Jade. I wondered if she knew Jade.

Jade and I continued to our seats and so we sat down. She was silent though, and I was just lost looking at the boy who I don't know the name of. He had such a dazzling smile. But I wonder who that girl is. She was beautiful. She looked flawless. I could see she was Asian though, and that made her look cuter and prettier.

She had jet black wavy hair, with full bangs; and bright brown eyes. She stood probably 5'9, which is already tall for a girl. The boy had jet black hair too, but they didn't look alike. He was... I had no idea. He had icy blue eyes that were somehow soft. He stood taller than me, obviously. 6'5 maybe... I was 6'3.

I looked at Jade. She was gorgeous too. With her auburn wavy hair, and her bangs swept on the side. She had beautiful eyes, and she was curvy. I'm bisexual and I find her hot and attractive, but sad to say... I only see her as a sister.

Whilst I... Well, Jade always said I looked "hot as fuck"; and if she weren't lesbian, she would... err... "Bang" me. I wasn't a lanky... I was fit, and had muscles- so I wasn't that stereotypical gay boys. I wasn't flamboyant, I was just me...

I looked down on my desk, trying to shake out my thoughts. It was drifting to licking up the boy, because I could already tell he had a fine body under his white shirt.

I groaned silently. What if that girl's his girlfriend?

    And there goes my chance...

Wait... He's not even gay anyway. And how could he be bisexual? He's... too manly.

"Hey Jade..." I called. She looked at me and smiled.

"Do you know that guy over there? Or how about that girl?" I asked. She probably knew them if they were popular. She had her sources. She even told me she researched about this school before we decided to study here.

"Oh... I think that's the two most popular partner in crimes in school." She smiled.

I raised my brow in curiosity.

"They're popular... And they're trouble." She shrugged.

    "Are they like... together?"

"Rumours said so... I haven't really gotten anything about them. All I know is their name and who they are in this school hierarchy."

    "Bullies?" I cringed.

She laughed softly. "No... More like pranksters and saviours."

    "What, why?"

"Well, when they started here in Evergreen High, this school used to be a bit like Newton High. But they stood up and changed the school or something."

"In two years?" I asked, amazed.

"No, they're seniors, actually. The guy there's Nathan Kulkov— he's Russian-English, but he has lived here in America all his life... Though his accent still has some rough edges on them. And that girl's Elizaveta Carlisle— she's mixed Japanese, Russian, and English; but her family moved here when she turned four, I guess... Because Nathan and her have been best friends since first grade, so that's saying that they were six."

    "Are they... err... related?"

"Their families are close friends, from what I heard. But remember never to call Elizaveta, her full name... Because unfortunately no one can really pronounce it properly except for her Russian mates. Just call her Eli as in Elijah, because she hates the name Liza."

"Wow," I commented. Are Russians that beautiful?

I was about to ask something else but then I noticed Elizaveta— err, Eli walking slowly towards me with a smile on her pink lips, while Nathan was behind her.

"Hi," she greeted to the both of us. I could already sense the strong accent.

Jade gulped, obviously nervous. I spoke in her behalf. "Hello."

"I'm Yehleezavyetthah," she smiled, amused. Jade and I looked at each other in confusion. Isn't her name Elizaveta?

    "Uh... I-I'm Rhyan... Gill."

Nathan chuckled and then he spoke. "Sorry about her," he started with his mind blowing hot Russian accent. "She does that when she finds someone new. Just call her Eli. No one can really say her name. It's a mouthful. Or you could just call her Yuri..."

    Elizaveta Yuri Carlisle? Weird.

    I nodded.

"I'm Nathan Kulkov, by the way." He winked and shook my hand. I felt a strange shock as he held it tightly. His touch was heavenly and it lingered on my skin even when I pulled away.

    "I'm... J-Jade... Tristan."

Eli reached for her hand and shook it eagerly.

    What?

Nathan took his turn and smiled at her, and somehow I felt a huge shock of jealousy course through my veins.

"Don't call me Yuri... Only my mother can call me that," she seethed, glaring at Nathan. "Do you want me to let them call you 'Poopshka', Natasha?"

"Oi, never mind. I was just kidding, silly." He pinched Eli's cheeks, making me want to just push Eli.

God damn it! Why was I being jealous?!

"Why do you call him Natasha? Isn't that a girl's name?" Jade asked Eli.

Eli smiled and sat down on the seat in front of us, and Nathan followed. "It's his nickname to all of us Russians."

    "What's with Poopshka?" I asked.

    Nathan blushed. Awwwwwwww.

    "His mum, Yehvah—"

"Eva in English," Nathan cut off.

"Whatever," she answered him. "Well... As I was saying... His mamushka— mum— was inventing nicknames for him. Since Nathan isn't really a Russian name... She was going through the Internet searching for adorable nicknames. So she found Poop, forgetting the real meaning of the word. And she added 'shka' to make it more Russian sounding."

"But how'd you get Natasha?" I asked.

"There is a Russian name for Nathan... It's Natan. So, Yehleezavyetthah— or Elizaveta pronounced in English— decided to call me Natasha, and so with everyone else." He shrugged.

    "But it's a girl's name..." Jade said.

Eli nodded and chuckled, and so with Nathan. But then someone went inside. A buff looking guy, who's obviously a jock.

    "Yo, Sasha! Come over here!"

    "Sasha?" I muttered silently.

He was taller than Nathan, and he looked gorgeous, but Nathan was much more gorgeous.

Oh my god. What the heck?

I shook my head and groaned silently.

He came over and grabbed Eli's waist, and pulled her in for a kiss. I saw Eli looking alarmed as she stared at Jade. Jade looked... weird too. Eli kissed him back though but then pulled away, smiling.

    "Are you two—" I started.

"No." Nathan cut me off glaring at 'Sasha'. "I told you not to do that," He whispered angrily at him. Sasha just laughed and shrugged.

"Whatever. So what's up?" He asked.

He cleared his throat and said, "Well, this is Rhyan... And this is Jade." I wondered why he emphasised her name.

"Okay?" Sasha said. And then his eyes widened. "Oh! Okay! Sorry Yehleezavyetthah."

"Well they were wondering why we have 'girl' names." Nathan smirked.

"Oh, it's just the way it is. It's pretty much like that in Russia. My name's Aleksander— but Sasha is a shortened name."

    "Why not Alek?" I asked.

"Russians," Eli snickered, looking at Jade who was blushing.

I just nodded and we continued conversing like that for thirty minutes. Glad to say our first day of school was actually a 'no-teacher' and a 'get-to-know' towards classmates and all. It was great really.

I found out that half of the class in AP English had the same schedule as Jade and I. The only difference was fifth period, which was after lunch. We had our own elective classes. And glad to say Nathan was with me, and Eli took mechanical workshop... Which made me much more curious about her.

The day passed and lunch came around.

When I said it was going to be a perfect day...

    I thought wrong.
