Okay. Updation time here. Soooo...I was sorta distracted at the beginning of this. My sister was making fun of screamo music. It's veryyyyyy distracting. Anyhoot. Updating. Dondedded. Hope you like it. And it's mostly cuz of dev that I updated. He's persistent. Argh.... Yup. Anyways. It's done. Jake sat down hard in the middle of the road. He couldn't believe it. He'd just seen her soul. He'd seen a soul. She was dead. He'd seen her die. And seen her soul. It was the most spectacular thing he'd ever seen. His butt was cold, but he paid it no attention. He was focused on the girl. He couldn't help but wonder: would she end up back on earth like him? He thought about the sight of her soul: how it had rendered him speechless, frozen, hoe beautiful it was. And he vetoed the idea. Something so beautiful wouldn't end up in the hell hole he was in. It would forever remain in the floaty-happy place or it would continue on to heaven. But something so great would never be back on earth. With that, he realized that his soul must not have been anything like that. It couldn't have been so beautiful and pure. It had to have been dirty. A filthy thing that didn't deserve to be near other souls like hers. No wonder he hadn't seen another spirit, or ghost, walking around town. He was the only one. Only the dirty, stained souls like his remained on earth. And his was the only one in town. He would be alone forever here. No one saw him. No one talked to him. He never saw anyone like him, and he was lonely. He sincerely regretted his decision to kill himself. This life, this world alone wasn't worth it. He hated it. He hated himself. He hated himself with the deepest hatred he had ever felt. If he could kill himself, he would. But he had already done that and it had gotten him here. Into deeper shit than he had already been in. With great self loathe, he pushed himself to his feet. There was no point in wallowing in hatred. He had a task, and he was ready to do it. To get it over with. To feel like he had done something with his dead self. He began walking away, then paused to look back at the car. To see, once more, to remember the girls spirit, and to wish that his had been more like hers. He sighed, regretfully, then turned his back and straightened his spine. Might as well just move on. He only made it a few feet before he heard a thunderous boom, the loudest sound he had ever heard. It sounded as if the sky had split. He looked up to see that it had. Above him, Jake saw a swirling vortex of darkness. It looked as if it were a black hole right above him. Strong winds began blowing, and he struggled to stay up. It was impossible. He fell facedown, and turned his head to continue viewing what was going on. He saw that it seemed to be raining, only in the space under the black hole, but he felt no wetness on his back. He was completely dry. Then, all of a sudden, he felt as if he was freezing. The rain falling turned frosty and it seemed to be snowing and sleeting at the same time. The air above him began circling. Faster and faster it went, round and round, until he couldn't see anything. It was a massive blur, a white wall everywhere he could see. He buried his face in his arms, to shield it from the buffeting winds and abrasive precipitation until...it stopped. All motion ceased and it wasn't cold anymore. It was a regular fall night, not too hot and not too cold. He listened, grateful for the silence, until he heard a small sound. It was minute and almost unnoticeable. He wouldn't ignored it, except then he heard a-- "Hi!!!" Who was this person talking to in the middle of the night?! Incredulous, Jake looked up, expecting to see some loud woman across the street, drunk, but didn't. He saw, instead, a young girl standing in front of him. And, unlike all other people he had seen, she was looking down. Right at him.
