Jake walked - well, floated, really - out the door and down the street. He floated with a purpose: to find Christi's house. He floated, and floated, and floated...until he realized he had no idea where she lived. Now that he thought about it, that would probably be helpful information. Just maybe. But how to get it? He sat down on the curb hard, and despaired.

I don't even know her address! How am I going to get revenge when I don't even know where she is?! She could live anywhere.

Slowly, his growing sense of helplessness peaked. His eyes filled with tears.

I'm useless as a ghost too! Why was I ever born? I was pointless. A disappointment, and now I can't even fulfill my death purpose because I don't have her address! I hate being a ghost. Hate it! I wish I could kill myself again. Then I wouldn't have to be a ghost anymore. I miss the floaty-happy place!

With that, Jake began to cry. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he shook with grief. It finally hit him, he finally accepted the concept: he was dead. He was never going to talk to his family again. They would never know that he was there, watching them. They would never know that he still loved them. He would go on without anyone ever acknowledging his presence. He began bawling harder.

"It's okay kid. I know how you feel." A man sat down beside him and began to speak. "But no matter how bad it is, it can't be that bad. It's not worth crying over. Be proactive! Do something about it!" The man stared straight ahead, focusing on something else while he was talking.

Was he...was he talking to me? Jake wondered. He was sitting right beside him....

"Sir, you have no idea what I'm going through," Jake responded, guessing that he was being addressed. People don't usually talk to thin air, right?

"I may not exactly know what's goin on with you, but I do know this: she's not worth it, son. Get over her," the man said. He had to be talking to him! He even responded!

"You can see me?" Jake couldn't Elisha it.

"Yes." The mans answer was simple yet it meant so much to Jake.

"You're the first person who's ever talked to me! I can't believe this! It's been so long since I've tal-"

"No. I can't. I've got to go. Business meeting. Bye." With that, the man got up and walked away. And Jake realized, finally, that he was really and truly alone.
