DONE!!! sorry it took so long...annoying story. but I got it done! Granted, this isn't perfect and I just finished it. But it's acceptable! Right? Right. Right?!?! (I say hopefully ) When she woke up again, Jake's and Jazz's mother slowly opened her eyes. Peering around, she saw Jake sitting on his bed, his back against the headboard. A translucent blue mist in the shape of a person rested beside him. They were talking to each other. Something about...her? "...I swear, when she saw Jazz grab it, she, like, went to town. She grabbed the dishtowel and smacked her in the a--butt with it to get her out the kitchen... Jazz was giggling the whole time and Mom was laughing and then I came in and she turned on the radio and started dancing... Jazz started prancing around and yelling 'I'M A UNICORN!!' Jake told her in a falsetto, mimicking Jazz's voice. She dissolved into hysterical giggles and Jake and Zephy couldn't help but laughing with her. "Ja..." her voice faded out, hoarse from shock. She couldn't believe it, but it was really him...right? "Jak..." she tried again, then cleared her throat. "Jake...Jake!" Her voice came out clear this time, and the three children's heads' snapped in het direction. "Umm...hey Mom! I missed you! How are you?" Jake asked her cheerily, but confused. He wasn't feeling anything but happiness, so why could she see him? Happiness...he really did miss that feeling. If only he felt it more often... But, hr realized, he had. With Zephy. She made him laugh, made him almost happier than he had been when he was alive... She was the best friend he'd had. Ever. She was... With a yelp, he saw her shimmering form. She had frozen again, her eyes unfocused. And then...she snapped into motion. "Stop TALKING to me!" she yelled, bringing her hands up to cover her ears. "WHYYYYYYY?" She drew out the last letter of the word, her eyes closed. With a scream blending with Zephy's cries, Jazz burst into tears and ran out of the room. He barely heard her clambering down the steps above Zephy's screaming. "Stop fucking TALKING to me!" Her eyes opened, full of fear and anger. They were a startling orange color, bright, almost red. "STOOOOOOOOOOOOPPP--" With barely a screech, Zeph just...stopped. Her mouth didn't twitch, her eyelids gave nary a blink. Her eyes glowed, unfocused, staring straight ahead. Next, her "ghostly body" just started...shimmering. It glowed, sparkled like glitter in the sun. And finally, it disappeared. Like it had only been a mirage, just a figment of his, of their, overactive imagination. No dent was on the bed indicating that her form had previously been lounging beside him. She was just...gone. What? Why?! Where had she-- Interrupting his thoughts, Jake heard two audible thuds. One came from downstairs, and Jazz's screams grew louder, changing from terror to pain. Shit. She'd probably run into the wall again... The second came from his mother as she fell again, her forehead and nose hitting the floor. Jake waited for her to get up, then sighed when she didn't. She was out cold. Again. Fucking drama. This was going to be a long damn night.
