I think I'm very confused... Is Zephy dead? A ghost? Alive? What... How about I just re-read it... Also:
Zeph is a ghost. For now. Havent figured out where I'm going with her yet. the pic... I like the unexpected, too! So I will not plan much anymore.
"Ummmmm...I don't think so..." Zeph managed, slowly forming the words. "She's...awake." Zephy, Jake, and Jazz all watched as she sat up, holding her head. Disoriented, she turned right and left, dazed and wondering. Her eyes weren't quite focused...until...there! She locked her gaze on Jazz, steadying herself. She was in...in her son's room...on his floor...and he was sitting next to her on the...OH HOLY ****! What the **** was she smoking, because this couldn't be real! It must be...must be...what did the kids call it nowadays? Smoking some dope? Or crack? Or...something... FOCUS! She told herself. Your son, your dead son, is sitting right in front of you, looking you dead in the eyes, and all you can think about is illegal drugs. And people wonder what's wrong with the middle-aged people today! You are a disgrace! You should be ashamed of yourself! You shouldn't be thinking about dope...or whatever...or... "Mom? Hello? Mom? Mom! MOM! You okay? Do I...does Jazz," Jake corrected himself, "need to go get Dad? He'd come home in a heartbeat... You don't look so well...Mom?" Damn...I just feel so...out of it... She thought. What's wrong with me? Why is my son sitting next to me? Why do I feel like I'm...I'm... With another audible thud, she hit the floor, passed out. Again.
"One..." Jake and Zephy said together, each holding a large bucket filled with freezing water. "Two.." Swinging the buckets back, they got ready to tip them, to dump their contents over her, at three. One of her eyes peeked open as they brought their buckets forward. It was like it was in slow motion... "Thhhhrrrreeeeeeee..." the single syllable word was drawn out as they began swinging their buckets forward, tipping them slightly. At the same time, Jake's and Jazz's mother sat up swiftly, eyes wide, holding her arms out slightly to the side. "Noooooooo...I'm awake...!" She yelled to them. She wasn't really one for cold showers... "Aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhh..." with a yelp, Jake held onto the bucket, bringing it up and over his head. The water hit the ceiling, then rained down on him, drenching him almost everywhere with the icy compound. He yelped again. That hadn't been in such slow motion to him... When Jake's and Jazz's mom sat up, Zephy let out a startled scream. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" She tried to bring her arms back, but the momentum...she couldn't...tried... She watched helplessly, dismayed, as the water, bucket, and all, crashed over Jake's and Jazz's mom's head, covering her with the freezing liquid and knocking her backward. The bucket rolled out the door and skipped down the hallway and down the stairs, stopping at the front door. All three children peered down at her again as she laid there, unconscious. "You couldn't hold onto it, Z? Really?" Jake asked her. "Umm...no?" she answered. "It just...slipped...really hard...at her face... I didn't mean to!" Damn her so called bucket throwing skills.
