  3. Pro Tip: Get your thread locked (without exactly violating TOU/COC, or become a moderator, and lock threads yourself.

As a long time player and forumer... I just have to weigh in on this one.

...As long as the reasons are clearly defined as a violation of TOU and judgements are consistent amongst those grey areas... I personally don’t mind the locks. My issue with any moderator (old or new) in forums had always been the same. Example: Just recently, I witnessed... one “old thread” (2017) being bumped and getting locked, (on a harmless and unoffensive general topic) while there was a duplicate thread, (same topic) recently posted and the purpose of the bump was merely to show the creator of the new thread that the idea had been done before (forums user research education). Another old thread, (also 2017) literally 2 posts before it, (even less relevant and more useless, that gave away the personal details of a forums member) had also been bumped, and was not being locked on the very same day.

Note: This isn’t a public protest. This is merely an observation of annoying inconsistencies in the performances of those chosen to keep our community a positive and inviting place to share our thoughts.

It is clear to me that some people have the ability to deliberately bend the rules and while it may indeed tiptoe on a grey and somewhat not clearly defined area, until the violation line is actually crossed, I can understand why the supposed offender would not face any disciplinary action (innocent until proven guilty). It is not clear to me how the rules can be bent in such a way to implicate someone whose actions do not directly suggest the outright intent to violate the TOU or COC. A punishment served (in this case) indicates more of an abuse of power and the restriction of rights a certain player has, simply because the person wielding that said power, has poor judgment. The result is a community that has an overwhelming distrust for the authority selected and thus threads are created and possibly misdirected to show the overall unhappiness with the way all moderators are performing. Again not a protest, just an observation of the overall morale that the community is showing.

TL;DR... Thread locking has always been an issue, some of the newer forumers just have the time, concern, and balls to speak up about it. This community has changed so much, and I will argue that forums has been more active, with more new participants, this year, compared to ANY other year before it. I personally am very happy to see so many new forumers arrive. I hope you are too. Welcome new friends!!!

  11. 6 years of wasted time and effort.

    jk, I love you jopo??

  12. Waste 7 years of your life here. The first year not having a job or going to school and being super active on forums to the point where you get like 15k in a year and a half and voila you're golden. Now you have 6 years to get 10k more by naking even more stupid comments and splitting them up. Dont make long comments like this one.

    Pro tips
