Just felt the need to clarify that there is nothing wrong with COLOR and COLOUR.

Americans spell "Color" whereas the British spell "Colour". I presume the person who invented HTML codes is born an American. Therefore the code sticks.

Same goes for "realiZe" and "realiSe". The former is American and the latter is British. It certainly is not an error in spelling. 
