Blizzard I stopped. I turned to James. He noticed it to. I put my fist up in the air. Everyone stopped. The cocked their guns, awaiting the bad news they expected me to deliver. It wasn't really bad news. "James. You getting that scent?" "Yeah. Yeah I'm getting it." James scouted forward, searching for it's origin. I bent down on one knee and used two fingers to brush the soil on the ground. Then I smelt it. "Rebel gunpowder. There was a minor gunfight here." Then I put both fingers in my mouth. "It's still fresh... There could be survivors!" Suddenly, James shouted from behind some foliage, "Over here guys! It's one of us!" everyone rushed to him. On the ground lay the bodies of rebels and US soldiers. One comrade was Sitting upright against a tree, clutching his left arm. Josh ran forward and touched his forehead. "He's burning up! Medic!" he shouted. Charlie ran up and took out his First Aid equipment. Josh inquired, with a look of genuine care and concern. "What's your name, soldier?" "Sanderson, sir. D- Desmond Sand... Sanderson." he groaned, clearly in pain. Charlie cut in, " You'll be alright, Desmond. Stay still!" Charlie Davis ran past me, towards Josh. All of a sudden, his eyes widened in shock. I clenched my fists. I was enraged. Reaching behind, I grabbed the how that was slung on my back. I picked and arrow from my quiver and armed it. I stretched the string back. My hand touching my chin. Wait for it. Wait for it. Then there was a burst of light. Sniper fire. Too bad for the sniper, he had exposed his location. "Nighty-night, a**hole." I release the string. "That was my favorite horse, dumba**!" I growled as the arrow travelled in mid-air towards its target. I didn't miss. The sniper's head dropped back, and his body was slumped. He was dead. He fell form the tree he was hiding in. Just as we thought it was over, battle cries broke the silence of the forest, overwhelming the sounds of insects. Then they charged...
