As the gang were getting closer the lodge it was Blizz who spotted someone in the distance. "Hey, you!" he called out. Next to the entrance of the lodge was a young boy, with sharp black hair. The boy stood were he was and waited for the rest of the gang to meet him. "Hi" he said sheepishly. "Hey, um, I'm Blizzard, call me Blizz for short, and this is the rest of the gang. Sophie, Nana, Qin, Epic, Charlie, Dan.. "Hi." they all mumbled. "My names Joe!" he said. "Um, I don't know what to say now.." he said awkwardly. "Haha, it's fine. Don't worry. Are you lost? You look young.." questioned Blizz. "No. Actually, I'm 15.. My mums the receptionist here, i was just wondering if you've seen her?" said Joe. Nana and Dan both shot looks over at Qin, but Qin just shook gave a discreet glare at the two, hoping that they'd understand what she meant. "No.." said Qin eventually. "We haven't seen her. Sorry." Joe sighed and suddenly looked disheartened. "Whats wrong?" asked Sophie. "Oh, well she was meant to come home a while ago.. She left a voice mail for my dad saying she'll be home before the storm, but that was days ago! And if she's not here... I don't know where she is.." Joe's voice trailed off. "It's ok! It'll all be ok!" said Qin, hurriedly. "You can stay with us, we might be able to find her." Joe smiled at her. "That'd be great. Thanks.." As the others were showing Joe around the lodge, Nana, Dan and Qin were alone downstairs near the fire. "Qin, what are you doing?!" questioned Nana angrily. "You can't just lie to the poor kid. He has a right to know that his own freaking mum is dead!" "DO YOU NOT THINK I DONT KNOW THAT?" she yelled back. "I had to come up with SOMETHING!" "Anything would have been better than that.." said Dan quietly. "Well I'd love to see you do something better!" she insisted. "Well, I actually would have! I would have just said the truth to the poor guy" said Dan admittedly. Qin just sighed, and then there was silence. "I'm gonna go for a walk.." sighed Qin. She got up and left the room. As Qin shoved her hands in her pockets ready to start walking she heard a crunching sound coming from behind her. It was Joe. "Can I walk with you?" he asked her softly. "Ummm, sure.." she replied. They both walked silently together up the hill. "I'm not stupid you know.." said Joe eventually. "What do you mean..?" asked Qin, confused by what he had just said. "Well, I heard what you guys were all talking about.. About telling me the truth".. "What?" said Qin surprised. "You know what I'm talking about. My mums dead, isn't she?" he asked. Qin turned pale and suddenly went quiet. All she could do was give a slight nod. "..but how did you?" she managed to croak out. "Well it's a bit suspicious don't you think? A group of teenagers who have full run of a holiday travel lodge with no supervision at all.. I knew straight away.." he said. "I'm sorry..." stuttered Qin, "It wasn't us..you have to believe me.." "I do." said Joe. "I also believe that further up this hill is a shed where a guy called Fletch lives. Am I right?" he asked. Qin looked amazed, confused and shocked at the same time. "How do you know?" she stammered. "My mum. She always said he was a suspicious guy, always keeping himself to himself." said Joe. "Do you know anything else about him?" questioned Qin. If Joe knew about Fletch and how physcotic he was, then maybe she wasn't alone with what she saw. "Let's just say, he doesn't like being alone.." said Joe. "I know exactly what you mean! He liked company doesn't he? But only in the comfort of his own home..or should I say, lodge?" said Qin. "Exactly right.." said Joe, wearily. "Joe.... Do you know what goes on up there?" asked Qin. Joe nodded his head slowly. "His Alaska ticket that he won in a competition? He's that excuse for years to bring in young people like us.." said Joe. "I knew I wasn't going crazy!" said Qin. "I thought nobody would believe me.. He plays mind games on us all the time. Someone's up there now.. I said i'd help her .. But, I'm scared.. And I don't know how.." said Qin, silently. "Don't worry. I can help." Joe said. "Remember that girl who died recently?" asked Joe. "Mhm, Melissa?" nodded Qin. "That's the one. I was good friends with her. I would come here to help my mum when the lodge was busy, and me and Melissa would go up the mountains together.. I knew something was going wrong when she started to become silent, and really secretive around me. She jumped at every little thing. It wasn't like her. She would always look at Fletchs's lodge like she was terrified of it. Once she was dead I knew exactly who it was.." said Joe, finishing his story. "I'm sorry.." apologised Qin. "It's fine. But I'm not letting the deaths around here continue. We're stopping this guy once and for all" said Joe. Qin smiled, and they both sat down on the snow, talking for ages. Finally, Qin had found someone who had seen what she had seen, maybe things would all be okay after all?
