  11. Zoe

    You gotta be kidding me...

As Zoe turned around she saw this scrawny, somewhat of a dorky looking kid running towards her. He's brown curly hair fell just above his eyes, he had a bit if acne on his face.

"Hey! I'm Chris what's your name?!" He said between mini huffs and puffs.

"What the hell do you want?" Zoe narrowed her eyes at him.

"Whoa, that's a pretty long name." He chuckled a bit.

"Bye." She turns around and walks away again, until to feel a tight grip on her arm.

"I swear dude don touch me, I'll knock your teeth out." She jerked her hand away.

She wondered around campus, people pointing and mumbling about her. After a few minutes of walking around she found the coffee shop.

"One cappuccino, please.." She said as she leaned against the counter. Suddenly she felt huge arms wrap around her waist.

"Holy shit!" Zoe yelled as she is lifted high into the air.

All she could hear was chuckles and giggles throughout the shop. She turned her head and saw a massive guy holding her.

"Put my down!" She squirmed around in his arm.

"Ha ha. Nah dis is too funny, Ight? You ok wit da?" He said in a strong ghetto voice.

Zoe did the only thing that she knew would work, she kicked him straight in his crotch, he let go instant, and dropped to the floor in pain.

"I don't like be touched." Zoe walked out of a huge path formed, as she walked out.

    She pulled her hood up.

    Bang Bang..

Two shots when off, girls started screaming as the bullets hit the board that Zoe just walked past. Zoe's eyes widen.

    Bang

Another shot went off. Someone was aiming to kill her. She quick ran through the nearest double doors.

"Hey Zoe..." A familiar voice said, making her swirl around to face them.

"Are you serious..." Zoe sighed, and stuffed her hands in her pockets.

    Leirra

As soon as Leirra saw Chris walk away from Zoe, she waved to the belligerent girl and walked towards the weeping willow tree in front of their dorm window.

    "Leirra, isn't it?"

Leirra spun around. Chris was standing in front of her, smiling beguilingly. She frowned. He had walked the other way, so he must have sprinted around the building to talk to her.

"Yes, it is. You're Chris, right?"

"…Yeah…" He seemed slightly creeped out. Probably because she knew his name. Well, that made two of them. "I need a favor. What was your first impression of me? What did I say to you? I'm doing an assignment for my psychology class," he added. "Seeing how much people remember of everyday interactions."

Her brow furrowed in confusion. "Um, you didn't talk to me, remember? You talked to Zoe and I didn't really participate because she can be a little… aggressive. Do you have short term memory or something?"

He laughed. "No, no, nothing like that. You'd be surprised by how many people do, though. Well, thanks. I have to go talk to other people."

She waved and continued to the tree, swinging her bag of paints back and forth.

    Finally. Peace at last.

Sighing, Leirra settled beneath the branches dipping down to hide her from view of various students strolling past. But her serenity didn't last long. A girl shoved through the leaves, stopping in front of Leirra with her arms crossed and dark eyes narrowed.

"Hello." Leirra greeted the girl pleasantly like she always did.

The raven-haired student rolled her eyes. "So now you notice me. I've been trying to get your attention ever since you walked onto campus. You're a ****."

Leirra smiled politely. "I'm really sorry. I didn't see you. Did you want to talk to me?"

"**** you," she hissed. "You don't deserve Tiger. How could you cheat on him? He's the sweetest, most caring, not to mention the hottest, guy there is."

Tiger? She thought for a moment and realization dawned on her. Her brother, Tyler, liked to go by a more "fierce" name at times. The king of one night stands, he often made up excuses involving Lierra to get the girls to leave his bedroom in the morning.

"I'm sorry, but I've never cheated on anyone. I-"

She continued without missing a beat. "He told me that you **** some guy, but he loves you too much to leave you. He's too good for you!"

"I'm really sorry, but Tiger is my brother. He likes to make these things up for girls he doesn't want relationships with."

"Bull****. You look nothing like him."

    "I'm his adoptive sister."

    "You're lying."

"I swear I'm not. Even if I was, wouldn't he technically be cheating on me too? And he lied to you. How are you not upset over that?" Leirra asked the questions logically without a trace of umbrage. But that seemed to goad her further.

"So you admit it. Well listen here, ****. I told Tiger I would avenge him. You walked all over him, and you're going to pay for that. I'll make you hurt more than you hurt him."

She laughed and opened her paints. "Okay. You do that."

The girl snarled and stomped away, but Leirra just calmly arranged her paints on the ground, biting back a scream when they exploded in bursts of vivid hues.

    Gunshots. Aiming at her.

She lurched to her feet and did the only thing she could.

    She ran.
