i have seen a couple mod threads but they are usually game-related. for example, guides.

Depends on the animal. A lot of birds aren't the most intelligent (altho still not as dumb as humans assume). Dolphins are pretty on par with humans tbh. A lot of scientists actually think we're related to them.
