He continued staring at me. He obviously didn't realize I was uncomfortable with him leaning over me. Without thinking I blurted out "Where's Karyn?" He left my room to look for her, of course. Assuming he never had a real interest in me, I started reading a book my English teacher assigned our class to read. It was called Catcher in The Rye and I didn't enjoy it that much at all. After finishing the last chapter I unintentionally started thinking about Jake again. He meant it. He definitely meant what he said. But we are siblings! Well, not exactly... "Auughhhh! What should I do about that confusing jerk-face guy?!" The mp3 player I owned helped me take my mind off of him for atleast two minutes then I decided I would write him a note. "I remember my dad said we could go out to eat today. Would you and Karyn care to come along? I put it under his door and left. Later I got a reply, a big reply. "Look, I didn't mean to upset you or cause you pain when I said I like you. I do like you, a lot. That is why it is so hard to live in a house with you without getting worried or confused more than half the time. I've had your pic since the time you entered High School. I could only look at you. Now I am forced to live with you instead. Too fast for me, personally. Also, sure we will tag along I guess." The note was so long and the fact he was concerned made me happy. He might be a jerk, but he is a sweet jerk. Now I wasn't concerned with the wallet anymore, either. Putting on my favorite purple dress and calling Kendra over to help with make-up for a "Family-development-among-my-new-brother-and-sister-thing" was fun for me. I wouldn't let her know who my new family members were, though. "Like, what do they look like?" I told her they were almost average. She assumed by almost average I meant under average and dropped the subject. "So did you hear about Chase?" Chase was my ex boyfriend. Now we were just friends. Smiling calmly I said "Nope, not in awhile." Then she went on to tell me about her having a developing crush for him. Everything was peaceful, for now.
The make up I was now wearing looked amazing. Kendra had taken classes in the make up industry. The way Kendra did make up was unique, in a cool way. After finishing my make up, she then did an interesting double bun design on my hair. I have really long, reddish hair so, "The designs are endless!" As she tells me almost every time she does my hair. Smiling, Kendra looked at me like I was a piece of art. This wasn't even for a dance or something amazing, but I knew I looked good. Kendra left soon after she was finished with her final touches. Today is like a dream. It honestly made me feel more adult-like, the way I looked was different. Different in a good way. I was incredibly happy for five more seconds until Karyn ran in. She didn't even bother knocking the door. "So, Amber!" She always said that in a way of investigation. "My brother was driving with the prettiest girl the other day! She is so pretty. I wish I had an older sister like that. Instead, mom remarried and I got an ugly sister." I did my best not to snarl back. Karyn always insulted me when her brother wasn't around. It was like the kid held a grudge against me when I never did anything mean to her in the first place. Smiling wasn't easy but I managed, just barely. I will not let a brat ruin my dinner date with Jake. The words Karyn said did stress me out, though. That girl is definitely important to Jake and I knew not to get myself caught up in false drama. He said that he liked me. The fact that he likes me was all that had mattered to me and not some little girl with a brother complex. Though, who would of blamed her? Jake Renners is a gorgeous, beautiful person and that is a fact.
Sorry that I updated a bit late. I have been preparing for exams. Thanks for the patience everyone.
