Update3 ~~<>~<>~<>~~ Drew's POV 5:54 P.M. I affixed my tuxedo in the mirror, looking at and studying myself, feeling like a fool. Drew, the guy who got rejected by the girl, would still go to the ball. Pathetic me. I still remembered everything that happened under the dogwood tree. I was heartbroken at Reece's account; Why did she say nothing to me at all? Why didn't she go after me? Maybe she just wasn't into me. But I figured that was a little ironic; the Acquaintance Ball was only held by the PTA's never-ending complaints on our lousy school programs, so it was natural for the couple not to know each other. It was the sole purpos of the Acquaintance Ball to acquaint. it may even seem like an ordinary party, except that everyone was required to dress in a formal attire and to have a date. But still...I wanted to know Reece. The first time I saw her, the start of classes, she had been sitting with her back to the tree trunk, autumn leaves veiling down on her. She looked so beautiful, so surreal. She was as lovely as the flowers that blossomed in spring. I felt like her shadow, trying to know everything about her while trying to evade her attention. I sighed. So much for my plans to bring her to the ball. My sister, Jeanne, intended to tag me along with her friends. She is such a burden sometimes. But I only came as a favor. A banner was spread on the gym façade. Welcome, dates and chaperones, to Orion High's Twelfth Annual Acquaintance Party There it is again. Dates. It felt like a personal insult to my feelings. I really wished I just locked my door and never got out again. But it was too late now. I looked at my sister, who was too busy chatting to notice me inching back from the roughly decorated gym doors. Instead I headed for the back doors. That's when I saw Reece standing by the bleachers, arm in arm with Derek Simmons. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do u think?
Update4 ~~<>~<>~<>~<>~~ Derek's POV 6:04 P.M. Reece and I were seated near the stage with two other couples. Each of them were chatting furiously with each other. I recognized two; the blonde-haired guy, Scott Foster, the star quarterback of the football team, was with Lisa Saunders, a brunette cheerleader with remarkable black eyes. The other couple I did not seem to recognize, but I think I see them during our chemistry class. The girl wore a black, lacy Lolita dress, and the guy wore a 1900s black suit and a fedora hat. They looked pretty much like goths, with pale skin and dark makeup. Not that I cared much. I looked at Reece, and she looked at me. My heart did a somersault. I was so lucky to have asked her out before anyone had. She was so beautiful. Though I felt and was happy, I could tell she was shy. She looked away. Her actions and movements were small and a little constricted. She seemed to be so close but far away. I broke the silence first. "Reece." I tapped her shoulder, and she shook her head. "What!?!" she almost yelled. "Oh, I'm sorry," we both said at the same time. Then she looked at me. "I should be the one who's saying sorry," she said in an apologetic tone. I smiled at her. "No, it's okay." I looked at my watch. "Show's about to start." I grinned.
