"You'd think for creatures bent on pure mindless destruction would actually make a clearer path" Samuel pointed to the random scattering of trees. Occasionally in between fallen trees would be one or two just awkwardly standing there, or two tree collapsed on one tree. "Listen the less we complain the faster we can get there." "I know that, it's just that this so damn hard to get through. And what year is it anyway?!" "What do you mean?" pondered Ninz. "Well, think about it. There's cities and villages in the same year." "Right, I still don't see where you're go-" "Don't you find anything wrong with that? Villages? So close to a city? In the year of electronics, high-speed internet, and 3-motherfucking-D television?! Wouldn't the village turn into a small town or something? No! It's a rundown place with locals using goddamn spears and smoke signals!" shouted Samuel, pointing out the obvious conflicting time areas and location set-up in the story. "I-I-I guess... But it's a lot like the Illiad." "The what?" "The Illiad. It's an epic poem by Homer. In it the Trojans take Helen of Troy. The husband of Helen is obvious mad, so he gets his brother Agemmenon to declare war on them, the Trojans, to get back Helen. At first the Greeks are losing but then, near the end, they build a giant wooden horse, hide inside, and once they're inside Troy, they slaughter all the Trojans. But why?" "I don't know; I never read it. But why are they at war? Couldn't they use diplomacy and avoid the whole conflict all-together? Or back to your question, why couldn't they just kidnap back Helen, kill the dude she's sleeping with, open the gates to the city, and get the hell out of there?" asked Samuel, once again, pointing out errors in a stories plot. "EXACTLY!! It doesn't make sense! But it makes for good story-telling, if only it was a story. The Battle of Troy really did happen; so it only goes to show how bloodthirsty humanity can be." smiled Ninz, apparently satisfied by this dark fact of life. "Wow, way to look at the dark-side of life..." "It's only one of the many fine services I offer" she said, smiling once more. "Dear God, please tell me she's coming on to me..." whispered Samuel, quietly to himself. "Did you say something?" "Errr, um... OH LOOK!! Smoke! We're close to something! Maybe that's the place!"
